Job summary

Biomason Denmark ApS in Ikast is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to establish, stabilize, and improve the mechanical performance of our first‑of‑a‑kind tile production facility. You will work with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Process Engineering to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or maintenance engineering in an industrial setting.
• Experience with industrial processes or manufacturing environments and automated production equipment.
• Experience with motors, heat exchangers, airflow, and hydraulics is advantageous.
• Experience supporting production start-ups, FOAK environments, or first-time industrial implementation is preferred.
• Fluency in English.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day supervisory and execution support for production equipment across the tile manufacturing process.
• Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for mechanical failures and downtime events.
• Establish preventive and predictive maintenance routines for critical equipment and utilities.
• Support commissioning, start-up, and scale-up activities in a FOAK environment.
• Collaborate with Operations and Quality to improve equipment performance, uptime, and process stability.
• Contribute to waste reduction, line efficiency, and standardization as production scales.
• Develop SOPs, technical work instructions, and equipment care standards.
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams on equipment modifications and performance improvements.
• Participate in FEL3 and detailed engineering design packages with EPC firms.
