DTU Lyngby Campus invites applications for a Laboratory Coordinator in the Genomic Epidemiology group. You will conduct wet-lab investigations, run bacterial culture work, and contribute to sequencing analyses and data visualization.

Qualifications

• Experience in general microbiology and specifically bacterial cultures, maintenance, culturing, cleaning.
• Experience in molecular biology including DNA work, PCRs and cloning.
• Experience in sequencing data handling and analyses (mapping and alignment).
• The ability to learn how to run scripts for data analyses and making figures.
• Very good communication skills as the position requires communicating with several collaborators.

Responsibilities

• Conduct ad hoc laboratory experiments testing bacterial strains under various conditions.
• Perform long-read WGS and metagenomic sequencing for projects.
• Conduct DNA extractions and other molecular work.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and manage strain collections including large bacterial isolate collections.
• Assist in analysing sequencing data and mapping reads to databases.
• Present data in plots and figures.
• Train and supervise students and guests in laboratory work.
• Collaborate closely with researchers and national/international partners.
