Job summary

DTU National Food Institute is seeking a Laboratory Coordinator to support broad wet-lab investigations, manage routine tasks, and assist with data analysis and plotting. You will train students and ensure the laboratory component of research projects.

Responsibilities include bacterial culturing, MIC/AST testing, long-read WGS, metagenomics, DNA extractions, and data visualization, in close collaboration with the Genomic Epidemiology group and international partners.

Qualifications

• Two-year master's degree (120 ECTS) or equivalent in microbiology/biotechnology or similar.
• Strong wet-lab experience and familiarity with laboratory work and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct ad hoc laboratory experiments testing bacterial strains under various conditions.
• Perform long-read WGS and metagenomic sequencing as part of projects.
• Handle DNA extraction and molecular work.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and manage strain collections.
• Assist in analysing sequencing data and generating figures.
• Train and supervise students and guests in laboratory work.
• Collaborate with researchers locally and internationally.
