Job summary

athme is seeking a Founding AI Engineer to embed AI into our product and operations from day one. You will build practical features using existing AI models, connecting them to our mobile app, backend, and data stack.

You will own ideas from prototype to production and help define the AI roadmap with the CTO and founders. You should have a proven track record shipping AI-enabled products, strong backend skills, and comfort working in an early-stage startup with remote flexibility and frequent

Qualifications

• Proven track record of shipping real products with AI components.
• Hands-on experience building applications with AI models, APIs, or embeddings.
• Strong backend and system architecture fundamentals.
• Experience with Node.js, TypeScript, Python, APIs and databases.

Responsibilities

• Build and integrate AI-powered features into the athme product.
• Connect AI models with the existing mobile app, backend, APIs and data.
• Own features from idea and prototype through deployment and improvement.
• Improve recommendations, discovery, matching and personalization.
• Build reliable systems with testing, monitoring and fallbacks.
• Evaluate models by quality, speed, cost and privacy.
• Help shape athme’s AI roadmap and technical direction.
• Collaborate with the wider product and engineering teams as needed.
