Description du poste

Drive Technical Excellence, Lead with Confidence, and Make an Impact as Team Lead for our Hardware Automation team

Are you a technically strong and decisive leader who sets high standards, takes ownership, and drives results?

At Gram Equipment, we are looking for a Team Lead – Hardware, Automation who combines solid electrical engineering expertise with a strong leadership presence and the determination to make things happen.

We are looking for someone who is confident in their technical decisions, comfortable taking responsibility, and motivated by delivering high-quality results. Someone who brings structure, challenges the status quo when needed, and has the courage to set clear expectations and follow through.

In this role, you will lead our Hardware Team within the Automation department, ensuring that we deliver safe, reliable, and production-ready electrical hardware solutions.

This is a hands‑on leadership position where you will combine technical expertise with team leadership. Approximately 80% of your time will be dedicated to technical and operational activities, while 20% will focus on leadership, planning, and employee development.

Your role – technical excellence meets strong leadership

As our new Team Lead, you will take responsibility for the daily coordination, technical quality, and performance of a team of six skilled employees in Denmark and one in Turkey.

You will be expected to provide clear direction, establish priorities, and ensure that decisions are translated into action. At the same time, you will remain actively involved in engineering activities, contributing your own technical expertise to complex challenges and important projects.

An important part of your role will be to drive standardization, increase automation of engineering processes, and identify opportunities for cost optimization, helping us create more efficient, scalable, and competitive hardware solutions.

You will work closely with colleagues across Automation, Engineering, Project Management, Procurement, and Production, where your ability to communicate clearly, challenge constructively, and stand firm on technical quality and safety will be essential.

You will report to the Global Head of Automation and play an important role in strengthening the performance and capabilities of our Global Engineering & Automation organization.

Your key responsibilities
  • Lead with clarity and accountability: Set clear expectations, establish priorities, make decisions, and ensure that commitments are followed through.
  • Drive technical execution: Take an active role in electrical design, panel engineering, component selection, BOM development, and technical problem-solving.
  • Ensure high technical standards: Review and challenge electrical solutions, maintain compliance with safety requirements, and ensure consistent engineering quality and documentation.
  • Drive standardization and engineering automation: Develop and implement standardized electrical designs, components, and documentation practices. Promote automated generation of electrical drawings to reduce manual engineering effort, improve consistency, and increase efficiency.
  • Focus on cost optimization: Identify and implement cost‑saving opportunities through smarter design solutions, component standardization, efficient engineering processes, and close collaboration with Procurement and Production, without compromising safety, quality, or reliability.
  • Take ownership of planning and delivery: Allocate resources, monitor capacity and progress, address obstacles, and proactively manage delivery risks.
  • Make sound technical decisions: Evaluate complex engineering challenges, balance quality, cost, safety, and delivery requirements, and make well-founded decisions, even under pressure.
  • Develop and challenge your team: Provide constructive feedback, coach employees, encourage accountability, and support the development of technical competencies.
  • Strengthen cross‑functional collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and panel builders to resolve issues and ensure effective project execution.
  • Drive continuous improvement: Identify opportunities to improve standards, processes, tools, and working methods, and take the initiative to turn improvements into measurable results.
What we are looking for

We are looking for an experienced electrical engineering professional with a strong technical foundation and a natural ability to take the lead.

You enjoy responsibility, have a structured and analytical approach, and are comfortable making decisions and standing behind them.

Ideally, you bring:

  • A relevant technical or engineering background within electrical engineering, automation, or a related field.
  • Solid experience with electrical design and panel engineering for industrial machinery.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical safety, technical standards, and regulatory requirements, including CE and DS/EN/IEC 60204-1.
  • Experience with electrical components, BOM structures, technical documentation, and engineering standards.
  • A strong understanding of standardization and an interest in automated engineering processes, including automated generation of electrical drawings.
  • A commercial mindset with the ability to identify cost optimization opportunities while maintaining technical quality and compliance.
  • The ability to analyze complex technical challenges and make clear, well‑founded decisions.
  • Experience coordinating technical work, managing priorities, and ensuring delivery against commitments.
  • Previous experience in technical leadership, team coordination, or people management, or demonstrated leadership potential combined with a strong desire to take responsibility.
Your personality makes the difference

For this position, your personal drive and leadership approach are just as important as your technical qualifications.

We are looking for someone who brings a strong personality, clear direction, and high professional standards to the team.

You are likely to recognize yourself in the following:

  • Decisive and confident: You are comfortable taking the lead, making decisions, and addressing challenges directly rather than waiting for others to act.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented: You approach technical challenges systematically, question assumptions, and base your decisions on facts and sound engineering judgment.
  • Results‑driven and accountable: You set ambitious but realistic expectations, take ownership, and follow through to ensure that objectives are achieved.
  • Structured and quality‑conscious: You value precision, consistency, and well‑defined processes and are unwilling to compromise on safety or critical quality requirements.
  • Assertive and constructive: You are willing to challenge ideas, address difficult issues, and stand by your professional assessments while respecting different perspectives.
  • Demanding but supportive: You set high standards for yourself and others, provide clear feedback, and help your team develop the skills and confidence to succeed.
  • Proactive and improvement‑oriented: You identify opportunities, challenge inefficient ways of working, and drive improvements that increase efficiency, standardization, and cost competitiveness.

You have the confidence to lead experienced technical specialists, the credibility to earn their respect, and the ability to create an environment where clear expectations, professional discussions, and shared accountability lead to strong results.

What you can expect from us

At Gram Equipment, you will have the opportunity to combine your technical expertise with leadership responsibility in an engineering environment where quality, reliability, and continuous improvement are essential.

You can look forward to:

  • A challenging and varied role combining hands‑on engineering with people leadership.
  • Responsibility for a team of skilled technical specialists.
  • The opportunity to influence technical decisions, engineering standards, and ways of working.
  • The opportunity to drive standardization, engineering automation, and cost optimization initiatives.
  • Close collaboration across engineering disciplines and other business functions.
  • The opportunity to make a visible impact on team performance, technical quality, and project delivery.
  • A working environment that values ownership, professional expertise, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • A flexible working approach, with the position primarily based in Kolding and opportunities for hybrid working.
Ready to take ownership and make a difference?

If you are a technically strong engineer who enjoys taking the lead, making decisions, and driving high standards while improving engineering efficiency and cost competitiveness, this could be your next career opportunity.
