Job summary

Shine, the European fintech powering small businesses, is seeking a Product Director, Accounting Core to own the accounting engine at the heart of its platform across European markets. This is a leadership role responsible for evolving foundational infrastructure while shipping essential compliance deliverables for accountants and SMB customers.

You will work with a diverse team across Europe, balancing near‑term needs with scalable architecture on a live platform.

Qualifications

• Deep accounting or bookkeeping domain knowledge across concepts like double-entry bookkeeping and VAT.
• Led product teams working on complex, foundational B2B SaaS products that depend on infrastructure.
• Architectural thinker balancing short-term delivery with scalable, long-term design.
• Thrives under operational pressure with cross-market sequencing on a live platform.
• Lead with empathy, enabling PMs and designers with ownership and outcome-based goals.
• AI fluency in tooling and understanding where AI adds core capability to accounting software.
• Fluent in English for cross-country collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Own the Accounting Core roadmap end-to-end and balance compliance with architecture bets.
• Lead and develop product teams, setting a high bar for discovery and delivery.
• Drive cross-market compliance coverage across bookkeeping, VAT, journals, and reporting.
• Define the engine architecture for the next phase to serve multiple markets.
• Be the voice of Accounting Core, translating complexity into clear constraints.
• Track bookkeeping completion rates, market coverage, and engine health.
