Job summary

Shine is expanding its Banking Engineering team across Europe. As VP Engineering, Banking, you will build and lead the engineering organisation behind Shine's banking technology: secure, reliable, and compliant with regulations.

You'll partner with Product, Compliance, Risk and Security to support product innovation while meeting regulatory obligations. The Banking Tribe includes almost 100 people across core banking, cards, customer lifecycle, and AML.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading a multi-team engineering organisation through engineering managers in a licensed financial institution.
• Owned systems where money moves with regulatory oversight (AML/KYC, PSD2, audits).
• Track record of building high-performing teams with reliability and delivery practices.
• Credibility with executive stakeholders and strong partnerships with Product, Security, Compliance and Risk.
• Led cloud-native environments with CD and on-call production services.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Banking engineering organisation through managers.
• Define organisation, operating model and resource plan and hire accordingly.
• Set ownership culture and accountability within teams.
• Improve delivery and operations: planning, documentation, observability and reliability.
• Partner with Compliance, Risk and Security to embed regulatory obligations in engineering.
• Shape engineering strategy and roadmap; advise senior leadership; align with Product.
