Job summary

Black Swans Exist ApS seeks an experienced Information Security Lead to mature and maintain the company’s Information Security Management System and embed pragmatic security practices into daily operations and future commercial readiness.

You will drive cross-functional collaboration across IT, R&D, clinical development, quality/GxP, finance, legal/privacy, and business operations to ensure security governance, risk management, and compliance in a growing international life sciences setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in information security, law, technology, business, life sciences, or related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience within information security, IT risk, IT compliance, security governance, risk management, compliance, or continuity planning.
• Experience from pharma, biotech, medtech, life science, healthcare, or another regulated environment; late-stage development, launch readiness, or marketed products is a strong advantage.
• Strong process mindset with ability to build fit-for-purpose security governance in a growing organisation.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity regulations and frameworks such as NIS2, GDPR, ISO 27001, NIST, or similar frameworks.
• Experience with security policies, control frameworks, risk registers, audits, remediation plans, vendor risk, control testing, or compliance documentation.
• Exposure to GxP, computer system validation, GAMP 5, EU Annex 11, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, pharmacovigilance, medical affairs, clinical systems, or commercial life science systems is a strong advantage but not required.
• Ability to communicate clearly with technical teams and business stakeholders across an international organisation.
• Pragmatic and proactive mindset with interest in continuously improving security maturity and enabling the business.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Help mature and maintain the company’s Information Security Management System and embed strong, pragmatic security practices into daily operations and future commercial readiness.
• Drive implementation and execution of information security controls aligned with ISO 27001, GDPR, NIS2, and other applicable frameworks and regulations.
• Support, improve, and scale the ISMS as the organisation grows internationally.
• Conduct risk assessments, control evaluations, remediation activities, and documentation across critical systems.
• Collaborate with IT, R&D, clinical, quality/GxP, finance, legal/privacy, and other functions to embed security into processes and systems.
• Translate business and regulatory needs into practical security controls for vendor risk, data protection, and regulated systems.
• Prepare security reporting, risk summaries, and governance docs for senior leadership and stakeholders.
• Support audits, assessments, due diligence, and compliance work related to information security and IT risk.
