Job summary

MyDefence A/S is seeking an AI Engineer to shape AI strategy, architecture and governance across the organisation. You will deliver hands-on proof-of-concepts, steer data foundations and move successful concepts toward production, collaborating with global teams.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate AI concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Professional proficiency in English (written and spoken).
• Experience with responsible AI adoption and compliance considerations is advantageous.

Help shape how AI is used at MyDefence from strategy and architecture to working solutions.

We are looking for an AI Engineer who can help shape and implement MyDefence’s approach to artificial intelligence. This is a role for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of strategy and hands‑on technology: someone who can think about architecture, governance and long-term direction – and then turn ideas into proof‑of‑concepts that demonstrate what is actually possible.

You will join our IT & Security organisation, report to our CISO and become a go‑to person for AI across MyDefence, working with teams across the whole global organisation.

What you will do
Your role will span AI strategy, architecture, governance and hands‑on implementation. You will help us identify where AI can make a meaningful difference as well as where it should not be applied.

A key part of your role will be turning direction into something tangible. You will build and demonstrate proof‑of‑concepts, work with technologies such as Microsoft Azure AI Foundry, agentic frameworks and retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG), and help move successful concepts towards production.

Your key responsibilities will include:
AI strategy, architecture & governance

• Design MyDefence’s AI strategy, together with a Global AI-team, and target architecture, and turn it into concrete, deliverable initiatives.

• Provide governance and oversight of AI adoption, ensuring it is responsible, compliant, and aligned with company priorities.

• Assess opportunities and risks and recommend where AI should and should not be applied.

Technical delivery & proof‑of‑concept

• Build and demonstrate proof‑of‑concepts hands‑on using tools such as Microsoft Azure AI Foundry, AWS Bedrock, and similar platforms.

• Translate strategy into working implementations and guide their move from concept to production.

Data foundations

• Ensure the data foundations for AI are sound — proper data quality, structures, and governance are prerequisites for reliable AI.

• Work with consultants and internal teams to get data structures right so AI can be implemented and deliver value on top of them.

• Apply business data analytics skills to connect data, AI, and real business needs.

Staying at the frontier

• Track developments across the AI field including what leading providers such as Anthropic and OpenAI are shipping and current best practices.

• Maintain a clear‑eyed view of pitfalls and risks so MyDefence adopts the right technologies and avoids the wrong ones.

Who we are looking for
You are curious about where AI is going and focused on turning new technology into real value. You combine technical expertise with a pragmatic, hands‑on approach.

You have a relevant degree in computer science, data science, engineering or a similar field or equivalent professional experience, along with experience designing and implementing AI solutions.

We imagine that you bring:

• Proven experience designing and implementing AI solutions, including hands‑on proof‑of‑concept work.

• Hands‑on experience with modern AI platforms such as Microsoft Azure AI Foundry, AWS Bedrock, Copilot‑studio.

• Experience working with agentic frameworks and retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) systems.

• A solid understanding of data structures, data quality and business data analytics.

• The ability to communicate AI concepts, opportunities and risks clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

• Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

• Experience with responsible AI adoption and relevant compliance considerations is considered an advantage.
