Job summary

If is seeking a Security Architect to shape secure architectures across AI, cloud, and software development. You will partner with enterprise and product teams to embed security into design decisions from the outset and advise on risk-aware solutions that enable innovation while protecting data and services.

You will work with the Security Engineering team to drive SSDLC, security principles, and practical guidance across technology areas, fostering collaboration and trusted advisor

Qualifications

• Experience in security architecture across AI, cloud, and software supply chains.
• Ability to translate security requirements into practical, risk-based solutions.
• Familiarity with frameworks such as SABSA, NIST, or ISO 27001 is beneficial.

About the Role

Help Shape the Future of Security Architecture at If AI and emerging technologies are becoming an increasingly important part of how we develop our business and digital solutions at If. They create new opportunities for our customers and employees, but they also introduce new challenges and responsibilities when it comes to security. That is why we are looking for a Security Architect who wants to help ensure that new technologies are implemented in a secure and responsible way. At If, we see security as an enabler of innovation. Our role is not to slow down development, but to help the organization make informed decisions and build solutions that support the business while protecting our customers, data, and services.

You will join the Security Engineering team within IT Security, responsible for Security Architecture, Application Security, and the Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC) across If. We work closely with Enterprise Architecture, development and platform teams, our AI Centre of Excellence, and a wide range of business areas. Our ambition is to bring security into technology, product, and solution decisions early, making it a natural part of the development process. At the same time, we are on an exciting journey to strengthen the role of Security Architecture as a strategic partner to Enterprise Architecture, technology teams, and the business. As a Security Architect, you will have the opportunity to help shape that development.

AI security will be an important focus area in the role, but you will also work broadly across security architecture. You will act as a trusted advisor when new solutions are designed and implemented, helping to ensure that security is considered from the very beginning. You will collaborate with architects, developers, risk and privacy specialists, and other key stakeholders across the organization to translate security requirements and principles into practical solutions that create real business value.

• Develop the future of Security Architecture and Security by Design: You will contribute to security principles, architecture guidance, and security frameworks within areas such as AI, cloud, software development, and software supply chain security.

Who are you?

You may have a background as a Security Architect, Application Security Specialist, Cloud Security Specialist, or another security‑related role. Your title is less important than your ability to combine expertise, curiosity, and collaboration. Experience within areas such as AI Security, Cloud Security, Application Security, DevSecOps, or Supply Chain Security is an advantage. Familiarity with frameworks such as SABSA, NIST, or ISO 27001 can also be relevant. Most importantly, however, is your willingness to learn and develop, which we value just as highly as specific experience or certifications.
