The Legal Counsel (f/m/d) is responsible for providing legal advice, guidance, direction and assistance on a wide variety of legal and compliance matters primarily in Germany, with support in Austria, Switzerland and Poland. This role supports the Danaher Diagnostics Platform (Dx Platform), which includes Beckman Coulter, Cepheid, Radiometer and Leica Biosystems, and also supports Beckman Coulter Life Sciences. The position reports to the Legal Director, Europe and is part of the Danaher Diagnostics EU Legal Team. The role will be remote, with an expectation to visit the office in Krefeld about once a month.

• Provide legal advice on contractual law, medical device regulation, public tenders, privacy and cybersecurity matters.
• Draft, review and negotiate standard agreements.
• Conduct legal training and education as deemed necessary for the business.
• Assist Quality and Regulatory Affairs with regulatory law support.
• Advise on privacy and cybersecurity matters.
• Work with digital contracts, AI, cloud solutions, ERP systems, etc.
• Support legal work going forward in new areas such as sustainability, digital and software contracting, new technologies, AI.
• Support the Compliance Program, including policy and procedure management, training, monitoring and investigations.
• Promote the use of the Compliance Hotline, awareness of the Code of Conduct, and understanding of compliance issues and policies.
• Monitor and report results of compliance/ethics efforts and advise associates on compliance matters.

• Diploma in Law / German qualification, or comprehensive training in German law if not German qualified.
• Fluency in German (native level preferred) and English.
• 6+ years of legal practice, preferably in an international law firm or in-house in Life Sciences, Medical Device or Pharmaceutical industries.
• Knowledge of compliance programs, data protection laws, health regulations and clinical trials.
• Project management skills with ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and report progress transparently.
• Ability to travel internationally as needed.

• Experience in a multinational company headquartered outside the EU, supporting geographically dispersed teams.
• Experience working in a multicultural environment and understanding Danaher’s D&I principles.
• Experience interacting with remote internal customers and management.
• Experience in a dynamic, fast-paced business environment.
