Senior Accountant
Job summary
A global logistics company is seeking a Senior Accountant to support their German entity. Responsibilities include managing accounting entries, overseeing accounts receivable and payable, and ensuring compliance with US and German GAAP. Ideal candidates should have solid accounting knowledge, a minimum of 3 years of experience, and fluency in both English and German. This role also involves supporting the Country Finance Manager with various financial tasks. Adjustments to working environments are available to assist all applicants.

- Knowledge of German tax requirements is a plus.

- Prepare and enter general journal entries according to US GAAP and German GAAP.
- Manage AR & AP processes with reconciliations.

This role is in support of Cencora's global logistics and storage services marketed through our World Courier business.
We are planning to open a role as a Senior Accountant on our Finance team, reporting to the Country Finance Manager Germany. Start talking to us now!
- Provide data entry, accounting and general support for German entity
- Prepare and enter general journal entries in accordance to company policy and US GAAP and German GAAP
- Verify accuracy of accounting journals and relevant documents per established procedures
- Manage AR & AP (including inter-company) processes with all connected reconciliations
- Manage Fixed Assets ledger
- Participate in month-close process
- Prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Maintain compliance with company policy
- Support Country Finance Manager on monthly, quarterly, annual internal and statutory reporting, internal / external audits, annual budget, government grants and related projects
- Support German entity and regional Finance SSC on assigned projects
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with relevant colleagues across the region
- Solid accounting and bookkeeping knowledge and minimum 3 years of relevant experience
- Education related to accounting or financial management or a related field
- Fluency in English and German
- Strong basic skills of working with MS Excel
- Attention to details and ability to work accurately, efficiently & meet tight deadlines
- Ability to work independently and as a team player
- Problem solver, flexibly embracing change and ability to learn
- Experience of working with accounting packages, SAP experience an advantage
- Knowledge and experience of German tax requirements considered as advantage
