Job summary

Thales in Germany invites a working student (m/f/d) to join the Radar Systems Engineering department in the Domain Surface Radar (SRA) at Thales in Ditzingen. Location: Ditzingen, SRA OME, Germany. Full time on site position with hybrid options.

You will develop radar data management solutions for ML and testing, build Python pipelines with signal processing steps, and apply ML-based anomaly detection under mentorship from an experienced engineering team.

Qualifications

• Student in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics or Mathematics.
• Basic programming in Python; familiarity with SQL, Git, CI/CD and containerization tools is advantageous.
• Practical experience with data (e.g. ML or visualization).
• Interest in learning software engineering and radar fundamentals.
• Analytical thinking and structured problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Develop radar data management solutions for ML and testing use cases.

• Implement data transformation and quality assessment, e.g. anomaly detection using ML.
• Develop new data pipelines for AI training, with data collection/visualization tasks.

Mission

• Developing radar data management solutions for machine learning and testing use cases
• Developing and optimizing data pipelines in Python, including the integration of signal processing steps
• Implementing data transformation and quality assessment processes, e.g. anomaly detection using machine learning
• Developing new data pipelines for AI training, with opportunities to work on data collection and visualization
• Working independently on a defined subproject with creative freedom and technical mentoring from an experienced engineering team

Requirements

• Student in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a comparable field
• Basic programming experience in Python, basic familiarity with SQL, Git, CI/CD and containerization tools are advantageous
• Practical experience in working with data (e.g. in machine learning or visualization tasks)
• Interest in learning software engineering and radar fundamentals.
• Personally you enthuse with analytical thinking and a structured approach to problem solving.
