Job summary

ALSTOM Transport Deutschland GmbH in Salzgitter is seeking an Arc Welder to join our manufacturing team, focusing on MIG welding and aluminum parts for car bodies and assemblies. You will read drawings, follow welding instructions, and ensure quality through inspections and WSP protocols.

You should have several years of MIG welding experience, a DB standard welder certification, and be comfortable with 3-shift operation.

Qualifications

• Excellent knowledge and several years of MIG welding (aluminum).
• Valid welder certification according to DB standards (Deutsche Bahn) required.
• Proficiency in working with technical drawings and jigs/fixtures.
• Willingness to work in a 3-shift model.
• Independent, diligent, and quality-conscious workmanship.

Responsibilities

• MIG welding and tacking of assemblies and car bodies.
• Processing sheet metal thicknesses from 8 to 12 mm.
• Reading and implementing welding instructions, drawings, and work plans.
• Visual inspection and completion of WSP protocols.
• Documentation in the AOS system and workflow documentation.
• Preparation and quality inspection of welded parts.
• Use of measuring instruments and ensuring safety and cleanliness.
• Support process optimization in manufacturing.

• MIG welding and tacking of assemblies and car bodies (including out-of-position welding)
• Processing of sheet metal thicknesses from 8 to 12 mm
• Reading and implementing welding and repair instructions, drawings, and work plans
• Visual inspection and completion of WSP protocols
• Performance of typical locksmith and metalworking tasks
• Documentation in the AOS system
• Preparation and quality inspection of welded parts
• Use of various measuring instruments
• Compliance with order, cleanliness, and safety regulations
• Participation in the optimization of manufacturing processes
• Documentation of workflows and results
