Job summary

Vsquared Ventures is seeking a Data & AI Engineer Intern to join our data and AI team in Munich. You will help build and maintain internal tools and pipelines, and apply AI workflows to support deal sourcing, due diligence, and portfolio monitoring.

You'll work closely with colleagues across the firm, bring real coding experience, and learn to deploy agentic workflows using modern LLM APIs in a hands-on environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with data engineering: Python, SQL and Git.
• Experience building with LLMs and agent workflows.
• Fluent in English and German.

Responsibilities

• System & tools: help build, improve and maintain internal tools and apps used by the investment team.
• Data pipelines: work on pipelines, ingesting internal and external sources for usable data.
• AI workflows & agents: build and extend agentic workflows to support deal sourcing, screening, due diligence and portfolio monitoring.
• Full-stack support: contribute across the stack from data and backend to frontend.
• Working with the team: turn questions into features and close the loop quickly.
• AI adoption: help the team get more out of AI tools such as Claude through hands-on support and onboarding.

Data and AI play a growing role in how we find, evaluate and support our investments. We have started building our own internal setup: data pipelines, workflows and a handful of apps the team uses every day. We are now looking for a Data & AI Engineer Intern to help us take it further.

Your Role

You will join our data and AI team and work closely with the whole team. Rather than looking after one narrow corner, you will support the development of our internal system as a whole and lend a hand wherever the next thing needs building or fixing.

• System & tools: help build, improve and maintain the internal tools and apps the investment team uses, and support the development of our system as a whole.
• Data pipelines: work on our pipelines, bringing in internal and external sources and making the data usable for the team and for our AI agents.
• AI workflows & agents: build and extend agentic workflows that support deal sourcing, screening, due diligence and portfolio monitoring.
• Full-stack support: pitch in across the full stack, from data and backend to frontend, wherever help is needed.
• Working with the team: work directly with colleagues, turning their questions into features and closing the loop quickly.
• AI adoption: help the team get more out of AI tools such as Claude and its Cowork mode, through hands‑on support and onboarding.

Your Profile

• Currently studying in a Master’s program, recently graduated, or between programs in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering or a related field, or something similar paired with real coding experience (side projects, thesis, research, open-source work).
• Some hands‑on experience with data engineering: Python, SQL and Git, whether from internships, working‑student roles, your thesis or personal projects.
• You have built with LLMs and agents: you have used model APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI or similar) and put together a few real agentic workflows.
• A real interest in deep tech and in venture capital or private equity.
• Happy to pick things up and move them forward on your own once the goal is clear, while asking when you need context or feedback.
• Fluent in English and German, since you will work directly with the whole team.
