Right now, we are looking for a Team Lead QA (m / f / d) to join our team at KNIME in Berlin / Konstanz.

Who you are

You lead and coach engineers, prioritize risks, and communicate trade-offs clearly to product and engineering stakeholders.

You take end-to-end ownership of product quality and enjoy transforming ambiguous requirements into reliable verification strategies.

You are motivated to modernize testing, reduce flakiness, establish reliable release gates, and support a continuous delivery approach that is fast, measurable, and safe.

You understand the distinct challenges of on-premises installations and SaaS / multi-tenant platforms, and you can design and implement testing and release practices for both.

You are hands‑on with test automation (web, API, backend), CI / CD integration, and performance and scalability testing for multi‑tenant systems, with proven experience in these areas.

You write and review test code (Python, Java, JavaScript / TypeScript), understand cloud and container environments, and CI / CD tooling. You also mentor junior engineers to help them ramp up quickly.

You are comfortable working with, or learning, our current testing tools—such as Robot Framework, k6, or Testpad. Prior experience with all of them is not required.

You have at least 7 years of experience in QA, including a minimum of 2 years in a leadership or management role.

You will serve as the senior quality technologist and people leader for QA across the tech stack, defining and driving a comprehensive end‑to‑end QA strategy that includes automation, release gating, performance, and integration testing.

You will own the automation architecture, collaborate with DevOps and CloudOps to integrate tests into CI / CD pipelines, and lead a team that delivers traceable and reliable release evidence for platforms deployed in both SaaS and on‑premises environments.

You will work closely with Product, Engineering, DevSecOps, and CloudOps to embed testing early, increase release confidence, and strengthen QA capabilities through mentoring and hiring.
