Job summary

Freudenberg Group in Germany seeks a Team Lead AI & Innovation for Engineering & Operations to drive AI and automation initiatives across engineering and operations. You will lead cross-functional teams, translate AI strategy into actionable projects, and partner with IT and external partners to deliver measurable value.

We require senior AI leadership with a track record in digital transformation, strong communication, and ability to operate in international environments.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline
• At least 5 years of professional experience in AI, Data Science, Software Engineering, Digital Transformation, or a related technology field
• Experience leading AI, innovation, automation, or digital transformation initiatives from concept through successful business adoption
• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and international environments, collaborating with business stakeholders, IT organizations, and external partners
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value
• Deep expertise in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI, including agentic AI architectures, machine learning, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and data-driven application development
• Strong knowledge of cloud technologies and AI platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure, including AI services, cloud-native architectures, and scalable enterprise deployments
• Practical experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), agent frameworks, LangGraph, Model Context Protocol (MCP), vector databases, and process automation platforms
• Ability to identify high-value business opportunities and translate business challenges into AI, automation, and digital innovation initiatives with measurable outcomes
• A passion for innovation and continuous learning, with a strong interest in emerging technologies and their practical application to improve productivity, efficiency, and competitiveness
