You will shape the technical roadmap with a team of system- and software engineers, prioritize the backlog, and drive user-centric UI development with Qt/QML while maintaining architectural integrity. English proficiency is required.

Qualifikationen

• Completed studies in Computer Science, Aerospace or comparable field.
• Professional experience in Engineering and Aerospace sectors.
• Experience across the system engineering lifecycle of simulation projects.

• Shape technical roadmap with system- and software engineers; break down requirements into tasks and milestones.
• Own and prioritize the product backlog balancing new features and technical improvements.

• Perform risk management by identifying and resolving issues before delivery.
• Ensure high-quality product delivery on time within budget and scope.

You are acting as a Systems Engineer (m/f/d) for our client Airbus Defence and Space in Manching.

Your responsibilities:

• Capture and translate customer needs into clear system specification and acceptance criteria
• Shape technical roadmap together with a team of system- & software engineers, breaking down requirements into tasks and milestones
• Own and prioritize the product backlog, balancing new features, technical improvements, and customer feedback
• Drive the development of user-centric, high-performance UIs with Qt/QML, aligning design with usability and architectural integrity
• Perform risk management activities by proactively identifying and resolving issues before they impact delivery
• Ensure high-quality product delivery on time within agreed budget and scope
• Manage collaboration with external suppliers and subcontractors, ensure seamless integration into the overall system
• Regularly monitor, evaluate and report progress, challenges and customer feedback. Keep stakeholders informed

Your profile:

• Completed studies in Computer Science, Aerospace or comparable
• Work experience in the field of Engineering and Aerospace
• Professional experience across the entire system engineering lifecycle of simulation projects
• Experience in managing external suppliers and subcontractors
• Understanding of modern software development methodologies (Agile, DevOps pipelines, containerization)
• Familiarity of software technologies (C++, Ot/QML)
• Understanding of military aircraft systems, operational procedures and mission workflows is considered as an advantage
• Fluent English skills, written and spoken
• German skills would be a plus
