Job summary

Nordex Group in Rostock seeks a technical leader to coordinate access, maintenance and safety systems for wind turbine tower concepts. You will bridge engineering, service, HSE, product safety and sourcing to ensure safe, robust solutions across steel and hybrid tower designs.

The role requires a completed degree in mechanical engineering and several years in mechanical component development or system responsibility, with knowledge of steel/sheet metal construction.

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical engineering or comparable qualification.
• Several years of experience in mechanical component development or system responsibility.
• Knowledge of steel, sheet metal or welded constructions.
• Experience in cross-functional technical coordination and stakeholder alignment.
• Familiarity with structured development processes and methodologies.
• Fluent English; German or Spanish an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Technical lead for tower access and safety systems (ladders, lifts, platforms, doors, protection features).
• Serve as central interface to engineering, service, HSE, product safety and sourcing for tower-related topics.
• Represent subsystem in interdisciplinary tower meetings for steel and hybrid towers.
• Present system status, risks, challenges and open points in reviews and boards.
• Ensure consistent technical standards and architectures across tower concepts.
• Coordinate and maintain DFMEA within system responsibility.
• Collaborate with design teams to define and improve technical solutions.

In this role, you are responsible inside the Global Engineering for the technical coordination of access, maintenance, and safety systems within wind turbine towers. You act as a key interface between engineering, service, HSE, product safety, and sourcing. Your work ensures safe, consistent, and robust solutions for steel and hybrid tower concepts.

YOUR TASKS

• Technical lead for tower access and safety systems such as ladders, lifts, platforms, doors, and protection features
• Central interface to engineering, service, HSE, product safety, and sourcing for all tower-related system topics
• Representation of the subsystem in interdisciplinary tower meetings for steel and hybrid towers
• Presentation of system status, risks, challenges, and open points in review and decision boards
• Ensuring consistent technical standards and system architectures across different tower concepts
• Coordination and maintenance of DFMEA within the system responsibility
• Close collaboration with design teams to define and continuously improve technical solutions

YOUR PROFILE

• Completed degree in mechanical engineering or a comparable engineering qualification
• Several years of experience in mechanical component development or system responsibility, preferably related to towers
• Solid knowledge of steel, sheet metal, or welded constructions
• Experience in cross-functional technical coordination and stakeholder alignment
• Familiarity with structured development processes and methodologies
• Fluent English skills, German and or Spanish are considered an advantage
