Job summary

Kappa optronics is seeking a strategic procurement professional to lead supplier management in a high‑tech manufacturing environment. You will develop key suppliers, monitor KPIs on cost, quality and delivery, and negotiate contracts and term sheets, collaborating with purchasing, quality, development and other teams.

Regular supplier engagement and travel are expected to shape sustainable procurement strategies.

Qualifications

• Completed studies in business administration, industrial engineering, supply chain management, or a comparable qualification.
• Several years of professional experience in strategic purchasing.
• Experience in strategic supplier management and supplier development.
• Strong analytical and entrepreneurial thinking with metrics skills.
• Extensive experience in contract, price, and terms negotiations.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills; independent, solution-oriented work style.
• Good German and English language skills.

Responsibilities

• Strategic management and development of key suppliers and alternative suppliers.
• Analyze and manage supplier performance based on KPIs for costs, quality, and delivery reliability.
• Identify procurement risks, dependencies, and optimization potentials; derive measures.
• Prepare, negotiate, and conclude supplier contracts and framework agreements.
• Monitor procurement markets and develop sustainable supplier strategies.
• Collaborate with internal interfaces such as purchasing, quality, and development.
• Maintain regular contact with suppliers and travel as required.

Your Responsibilities:

• Strategic management and development of key suppliers as well as establishing suitable alternative suppliers
• Analysis and management of supplier performance based on relevant KPIs, particularly regarding costs, quality, and delivery reliability
• Identification of procurement risks, dependencies, and optimization potentials, as well as deriving appropriate measures
• Preparation, negotiation, and conclusion of supplier contracts, framework agreements, and terms
• Monitoring and evaluation of procurement markets as well as development of sustainable procurement and supplier strategies
• Close collaboration with operational purchasing, quality, development, and other internal interfaces
• Regular personal exchange with suppliers, including corresponding travel activities

Your Profile:

• Completed studies in business administration, industrial engineering, supply chain management, or a comparable qualification
• Several years of professional experience in strategic purchasing, ideally in a manufacturing or technically oriented industrial company
• Experience in strategic supplier management and supplier development
• Confident handling of purchasing and supplier metrics as well as strong analytical and entrepreneurial thinking
• Extensive experience in contract, price, and terms negotiations
• Strong communication and negotiation skills as well as a structured, independent, and solution-oriented working style
• Good German and English language skills
