Job summary

CLP Trading GmbH in Germany seeks a Strategic Buyer (m/f/d) to shape and develop our product range with entrepreneurial thinking. You will develop purchasing strategies, manage supplier partnerships and lead negotiations to optimize quality, cost and availability.

You will monitor market trends, collaborate across departments, ensure ESG compliance and support successful market launches for Home & Living products. Fluent English is required for international partnerships.

Qualifications

• Completed commercial vocational training or an equivalent qualification.
• Many years of experience in strategic purchasing in e-commerce, ideally in Home & Living.
• Strong communication skills and confident negotiation.
• Strong numerical sense and ability to translate spot market opportunities into purchasing strategies.
• Passion for Home & Living products and trends; good feel for appealing ranges.
• Extensive knowledge of supplier management and ensuring quality standards.
• Fluent in written and spoken English; able to communicate with international partners.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, goal-oriented, initiative, adaptability and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement purchasing strategies focusing on quality, cost and availability.
• Identify new suppliers, build long-term partnerships and lead price/contract negotiations.
• Monitor market trends and strategically develop our range with departments.
• Analyze procurement markets, price trends and KPIs to derive cost-saving measures.
• Ensure optimal stock availability with warehouse and logistics; avoid overstock/shortages.
• Coordinate supplier evaluations and ensure compliance with quality standards (ESG).
• Collaborate with sales, marketing and logistics to support market launches.

For our Bielefeld site we are looking for a committed Strategic Buyer (m/f/d) who will actively shape and develop our range with entrepreneurial thinking, initiative and an eye for attractive products.

• Strategic purchasing: You develop and implement purchasing strategies, identify savings potential and optimise our procurement processes with regard to quality, cost and availability.
• Supplier management: You identify new suppliers, build long-term partnerships and continuously develop existing business relationships. You lead price and contract negotiations and agree optimal purchasing and delivery terms.
• Range and product development: You monitor market trends, recognise new product potential and strategically develop our range together with the relevant departments.
• Cost and market analysis: You analyse procurement markets, price trends and purchasing KPIs, evaluate offers and derive economically sound measures from them.
• Inventory and demand planning: Together with our warehouse and logistics team you ensure optimal stock availability, analyse sales figures and develop measures to avoid overstock and supply shortages.
• Quality assurance & compliance: You ensure compliance with our quality standards, coordinate supplier evaluations and quality inspections and take sustainability and ESG criteria into account in the procurement process.
• Cross-departmental collaboration: You work closely with sales, marketing and logistics and support the selection and successful market launch of new products.

Your profile

• You have completed commercial vocational training or hold a comparable qualification.
• You bring many years of experience in strategic purchasing in e-commerce, ideally in Home & Living.

• You have a strong head for figures, spot market opportunities and turn them into commercially successful purchasing strategies.
