Job summary

IFCO Group in Berlin seeks an experienced Accounts Payable specialist to manage invoice processing, non-PO cost assignments, and period-end activities. You will ensure VAT compliance, accurate postings, and cross-country collaboration within an international finance team.

The role requires a college degree in business or accounting, SAP FI proficiency, and strong Excel/Outlook skills. A hybrid work model and an international, inclusive culture are offered.

Responsibilities

• Invoice Processing: process incoming invoices and credit/debit notes with correct posting and VAT compliance.
• Cost assignment for invoices: select GL account, cost center, and approvals for non-PO invoices.
• Process harmonization & automation: support standardization/automation of AP processes.
• Documentation support: contribute to process documentation updates.
• Variance analysis: analyze price/quantity differences and coordinate follow-ups.
• Expense management: handle travel and expense claims per internal policies.
• Payment execution: run weekly payments accurately and timeliness.
• Period-end closing: perform AP period-end closing including GR/IR analysis.

Through our products and the need for less packaging materials we reduce the carbon footprint.\"The future is circular\"**Key responsibilities:*** **Invoice Processing** - Process incoming invoices as well as credit and debit notes, ensuring correct posting and compliance with legal requirements, especially VAT.* **Cost assignment for invoices** - Evaluate, decide and apply cost elements to ensure correct processing of invoices without PO (selection of GL account, cost center, approval workflows).* **Process Harmonization & Automation** - Support initiatives to standardize and automate accounts payable processes across the organization.* **Documentation Support** - Contribute to the creation and maintenance of clear and up-to-date process documentation.* **Variance Analysis** - Analyze price and quantity differences for received goods and services and coordinate follow-ups with relevant functions.* **Expense Management** - Manage and process travel and expense claims in line with internal policies.* **Payment Execution** - Execute weekly payment runs when required, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.* **Period-End Closing** - Perform period-end closing activities for Accounts Payable, including GR/IR analysis and clearing as well as creditor/debtor reclassifications.**We expect:*** **Educational Background** - College degree in Business Administration or an equivalent accounting qualification/experience.* **International Exposure** - Experience working in an international environment with cross-country collaboration.* **Accounting Experience** - Practical experience in accounting, preferably in Accounts Payable, with a solid understanding of basic accounting principles and VAT regulations.
