Zusammenfassung

Airbus Defence and Space GmbH in Germany is seeking a Simulation HMI Software Architect for Eurofighter Training Simulators. You will define architectures, translate customer needs into specs, and work with cross-functional teams to deliver high-fidelity HMI systems for instructor operating stations.

The role requires 5+ years in simulation projects, strong C++/Qt/QML skills, and experience with Agile/DevOps.

Qualifikationen

  • Bachelor or higher degree in computer science, aeronautical engineering, or relevant field.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience across the system engineering lifecycle of simulation projects, preferably in military flight training devices.
  • Understanding of military aircraft systems, procedures, and mission workflows is advantageous.
  • Strong background with modern software development methodologies (Agile, DevOps pipelines, containerization) and familiarity with software technologies (C++, Qt/QML).
  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills for collaboration with customers and cross-functional teams.
  • Proactive and pragmatic mindset with passion for simulation.

Job Description

In order to support, Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Simulation HMI Software Architect – Eurofighter Training Simulators (d/f/m). Our department develops top-notch, high‑fidelity engineering and training simulations for a variety of aircrafts, supporting the entire development lifecycle. We are looking for a simulation software architect in context of HMI systems within Eurofighter training simulations, e.g. instructor operating stations. These stations provide the overall simulation control & monitoring, and are also used for defining and debriefing training sessions. While architecting the simulator HMI systems, you will also collaborate with a team of system and software engineers to ensure successful product development.

Your tasks and responsibilities
  • Capture and translate customer needs into clear system specification and acceptance criteria.
  • Define the simulation and software architecture in a collaborative manner with other transversal and project specific teams and experts.
  • Prepare and conduct design reviews with internal and external customers.
  • Support development, integration, validation/verification, acceptance and certification activities.
  • Perform risk management activities by proactively identifying and resolving issues before they impact delivery.
  • Ensure high-quality product delivery on time within agreed budget and according to customer’s needs, expectations and requirements.
  • Regularly monitor, evaluate and report progress, challenges and customer feedback.
  • Keep stakeholders informed.

Desired skills and qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to mentor junior engineers and to efficiently collaborate with customers and within cross-functional teams.
  • Proactive and pragmatic mindset and being passionate about simulation.
