Job summary

Airbus Defence and Space GmbH is seeking a Senior Software Architect to design distributed software architectures for Infrastructure & Operations. You will coordinate across software teams and create tools to enhance development efficiency.

The role requires 5–10 years of experience, strong C++ skills, and experience with Qt/QML, Go, Python, and IT infrastructure tools like Terraform and Kubernetes. Located near Munich in Manching, with a permanent contract.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or similar.
• 5–10 years of professional software experience.
• Extensive experience in software architecture, design and development.
• Experience in distributed systems design and implementation.
• Experience with IT infrastructure projects (Terraform, Nomad, Kubernetes, etc).
• Excellent C++ skills and knowledge of Qt/QML, Go, Ansible, Python.

• Design and develop the architecture of distributed software & frameworks for Infrastructure & Operations.
• Create and ensure excellent testability of software.
• Coordinate closely with other software teams.

Senior Software Architect (d/f/m)

In order to take our Engineering and Training Simulators to the next level, Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a passionate Senior Software Architect (d/f/m).

Your tasks and responsibilities

• Design and Develop the architecture of distributed software & frameworks in the context of Infrastructure & Operations
• Create and ensure excellent testability
• Coordinate closely with other software teams

Desired skills and qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or similar
• At least 5 to 10 years of professional experience required
• Extensive experience in Software architecture, design and development
• Experience in designing & implementing distributed systems
• Experience in using / developing IT Infrastructure related projects (e.g. Terraform, Nomad, Kubernetes, etc)
• Excellent C++ skills
• Other programming languages / Frameworks are welcome (Qt / QML, Go, Ansible, Python...)
