ABOUT YOU in Hamburg is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Supply Data Solutions team, shaping data pipelines and the Pricing Engine. You will translate business questions into scalable software and improve infrastructure alongside analytics engineers and data scientists.

You will write efficient Python, build and maintain AWS-based pipelines ( Lambda, Batch, Step Functions ), manage CI/CD with GitLab and CloudFormation, and mentor junior colleagues while delivering reliable backend

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience in a related domain.
• Expert level Python skills.
• Understanding of software engineering best practices and design patterns.
• Understanding of pipelines and orchestration systems.
• Experience building production-grade applications.
• Packaging and modularization of software systems.
• Experience with cloud services (AWS) and version control (Git)

We are looking for a (Senior) Software Engineer to join our team to improve our infrastructure, data pipelines and translating business requirements into software solutions. In Supply Data Solutions at ABOUT YOU, we provide data solutions to our internal business stakeholders. Whether it's a complex product or a simple process of pushing data to a shared folder, we want to ensure our deliverables are long-lived, scalable and reliable. Our team is a mix of analytics engineers, data scientists and software engineers. You will work closely with all of them and use your engineering mindset to bring business questions into the tech world and deliver solutions. One of our main products is the Pricing Engine, which runs optimisation and forecasting models in production to set prices in our shop. We are in the early stages of redesigning it to integrate pricing for Outlet deals, and you would be part of shaping and building it.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering background with solid programming fundamentals, and 6+ years of experience in a related domain
• Expert level Python skills
• Good understanding of software engineering best practices and design patterns
• Understanding of pipelines and orchestration systems
• Experience in building maintainable, production-grade applications
• Packaging and modularization of software systems
• Experience with cloud services (AWS) and version control (Git)

Soft Skills

• A proactive mindset to not just build, but also monitor, govern, and own the backend and architecture health and reliability.
• Self-driven approach to problem-solving and learning
• The ability to balance long-term clean system design with the immediate need to deliver business value.

Nice to haves

• System design experience
