Job summary

ABOUT YOU in Hamburg is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines for shop performance and retail media reporting. You will create automated reporting solutions based on stakeholder requirements and enhance attribution models for our advertising platform.

You will ensure data quality across data assets, collaborating across product, tech, and retail media teams to translate business needs into scalable analytics solutions and drive impactful

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Advanced SQL skills and query optimization for large data environments.
• Experience with data transformation tools (dbt) in big data contexts.
• Data modeling expertise for high-volume event and tracking data.
• Strong frontend tracking and web analytics (GA4).
• Proficiency with data orchestration tools (Dagster, Airflow) and cloud platforms (BigQuery, Redshift).
• Experience with partitioning and clustering optimization.
• Strong independent work and project drive.
• Excellent communication for cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Collaborative mindset and cross-functional teamwork.

• Design and build automated reporting solutions based on business stakeholder requirements

Qualifications

• You have at least 5 years of relevant experience
• Advanced SQL skills, including query optimization for big data environments
• Experience with data transformation tools (e.g., dbt) in big data contexts
• Data modeling expertise, with focus on creating robust, flexible models for high-volume event and tracking data
• Solid understanding of frontend tracking and web analytics implementation (e.g., GA4)
• Proficiency with data orchestration tools (such as, Dagster, Airflow) and cloud-based big data platforms (e.g., Google BigQuery, AWS Redshift)
• Experience with optimization techniques (partitioning, clustering)
• Strong ability to work independently and drive projects forward
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with diverse stakeholders
• Problem-solving approach with attention to detail
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Collaborative mindset, with experience working in cross-functional teams

Nice To Have

• In-depth knowledge of BigQuery, including cost optimization techniques and complex functionalities
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., GitLab CI/CD, Terraform)
• Practical experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker)
