Airbus Defence and Space GmbH is seeking a Senior Software Architect to lead architectural design for distributed software and infrastructure frameworks. You will drive testability, coordinate with multiple software teams, and build tools to improve development processes.

The role requires 5–10 years of experience in software architecture and distributed systems, with strong C++ skills and familiarity with Qt/QML, Go, Python or Ansible.

Senior Software Architect (d/f/m)

In order to take our Engineering and Training Simulators to the next level, Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a passionate Senior Software Architect (d/f/m).

Your tasks and responsibilities

• Design and Develop the architecture of distributed software & frameworks in the context of Infrastructure & Operations
• Create and ensure excellent testability
• Coordinate closely with other software teams
• Create tools for improving our development processes (e.g. code generators)
• Perform integration and acceptance testing

Desired skills and qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or similar
• At least 5 to 10 years of professional experience required
• Extensive experience in Software architecture, design and development
• Experience in designing & implementing distributed systems
• Experience in using / developing IT Infrastructure related projects (e.g. Terraform, Nomad, Kubernetes, etc)
• Excellent C++ skills
• Other programming languages / Frameworks are welcome (Qt / QML, Go, Ansible, Python...)
