Airbus Defence and Space is seeking an IT Infrastructure Architect to shape the evolution of our scalable IT environments. You will work with Engineering teams to define infrastructure strategy, create blueprints, and maintain critical services across IaaS and PaaS platforms.

The role emphasizes ownership, end-to-end accountability, and collaboration with DevOps to empower software engineers to advance products. Located near Munich in Manching, you will join a diverse, international team.

Qualifikationen

• Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5–10 years of professional experience in design and operation of Enterprise IT Infrastructure.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Ansible, Terraform).
• Expertise in virtualization, storage, and automation.

• Capture infrastructure needs from Developers and DevOps Engineers.
• Define technology strategy for IT Infrastructure.
• Develop, implement and maintain infrastructure services.
• Design IT infrastructure blueprints for products.
• Maintain infrastructure policies and standards.
• Maintain internal IaaS and PaaS services (e.g. Proxmox, Kubernetes; Jenkins, Nexus, Vault, openNMS, Foreman).
• Coordinate with Corporate IT services.

Airbus Defence and Space is looking for an IT Infrastructure Architect (d/f/m).

As an IT organization embedded inside Engineering, we provide modern and scalable Development & Integration Environments for several hundred Engineers. We actively define and implement the IT Architecture of our products which are used by customers around the globe. To support our business growth, we are currently looking for an additional experienced IT Infrastructure Architect / Engineer. You have the chance to directly shape the evolution of our infrastructure and products. Being part of our Infrastructure Team means that you fully buy into a "Ownership" and "End-to-End-Accountability" culture. You empower our Software and DevOps Engineers to take our products to the next level.

Your tasks and responsibilities

• Capture the infrastructure needs and requirements from our Developers and DevOps Engineers
• Define the technology strategy for our IT Infrastructure
• Develop, implement and maintain infrastructure service
• Design IT infrastructure architectural blueprints for our products
• Compile infrastructure policies and define standards
• Maintain our internal IaaS Services and the underlying technologies (e.g. Proxmox, Kubernetes)
• Maintain our internal PaaS Services (e.g. Jenkins, Nexus, Vault, openNMS, Foreman...)
• Coordinate closely with corporate IT services like Corporate Governance

Desired skills and qualifications

• Master degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or a related discipline
• At least 5 to 10 years of professional experience in the design and operation of Enterprise IT Infrastructure
• A deep understanding and experience with Infrastructure-as-Code Tools (e.g. Ansible, Terraform or comparable solutions)
• High Level of expertise in at least one or more related fields (e.g. virtualization, storage, automation...)
• Hands-on experience in designing, implementing and maintaining Network infrastructure (e.g. Cisco, Aruba, SonicOS)
• Experience with dynamic Provisioning and Immutable Systems
• A good understanding what High-Availability, Scalability and Fault tolerance mean
• Solid Multi-Distro Linux Skills
• Experience in one or more Scripting / programming languages (Python, Bash, C++, Go...)
