Job summary

Boardwise GmbH is seeking a senior QA professional to own end-to-end quality across desktop, mobile, and API testing. You will analyze requirements, design robust test docs, and execute comprehensive test activities including complex RBAC scenarios and Microsoft 365 integrations.

The role emphasizes shift-left testing, Agile processes, and leveraging AI tools to enhance test design and investigation. Fully remote role with international collaboration.

Qualifications

• QA expertise across multiple testing types (functional, regression, integration, E2E, UAT).
• Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC with Agile/Scrum and shift-left testing practices.
• Experience with test design techniques such as boundary value analysis, equivalence partitioning, decision tables, state transitions, pairwise testing, and scenario-based testing.
• Experience with Jira or Azure DevOps for test management and traceability.
• Experience with testing complex permission models (RBAC) and workflow-heavy products.

Responsibilities

Your mission

• Analyse requirements and user stories and identify gaps, edge cases, and risks early in the development process
• Design and maintain test documentation, including test plans, test cases, checklists, and requirement traceability
• Perform functional, regression, integration, exploratory, end-to-end, and acceptance testing
• Test complex role- and permission-based scenarios, including multiple user roles, restricted access, and cross-board visibility
• Verify end-to-end integrations with Microsoft 365
• Test our iOS and Android applications across different devices and operating systems
• Validate configuration settings as well as data import and export functionality
• Report clear and reproducible defects and actively support their resolution
• Participate in release readiness, smoke testing, and post-release verification
• Use AI tools to improve test analysis, test design, debugging, and investigation

Your profile

• QA expertise
• 5+ years of professional experience in Software QA
• Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile/Scrum, and shift-left testing practices
• Solid knowledge of functional, regression, smoke, integration, E2E, exploratory, UAT, compatibility, usability, and localization testing
• Experience with test design techniques such as boundary value analysis, equivalence partitioning, decision tables, state transitions, pairwise testing, and scenario-based testing
• Experience working with tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps
• Strong experience testing complex permission models and RBAC scenarios
• Experience with workflow-heavy products, such as approval processes, deadlines, or publishing rules
• Strong root-cause analysis skills using browser DevTools, network requests, console logs, local storage, REST and GraphQL payloads

Microsoft 365

• Hands-on experience testing applications integrated with Microsoft 365, such as SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, or Entra ID

Mobile & API testing

• Proven experience testing mobile applications on iOS and Android
• Understanding of mobile-specific risks such as device and OS fragmentation, permissions, network connectivity, push notifications, deep links, and app updates
• Experience working with TestFlight, Android test builds, and device logs
• Hands-on experience testing GraphQL APIs, including queries, mutations, variables, fragments, and schema introspection
• Good understanding of HTTP, JSON, authentication, authorisation, validation, error handling, and status codes
• Ability to validate data consistency between API and UI

AI tools

• Practical experience using AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude, or GitHub Copilot in QA workflows
• Experience using AI for requirements analysis, test case generation, log investigation, payload analysis, or test automation support
• Good understanding of AI limitations and responsible handling of sensitive data

Other

• English proficiency at B2 level or higher

Nice to have

• Experience with test automation using C# / .NET, Playwright, or xUnit
• Knowledge of access-control security testing, including OWASP Top 10, IDOR, and privilege escalation
• Experience in Enterprise B2B SaaS or governance / compliance software
• ISTQB certification
