Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager / PMO professional to lead complex IT projects and highly complex sub-projects within a large-scale IT infrastructure environment.

The role covers the end-to-end management of complex projects, from solution development through implementation and commissioning. It combines senior project leadership, PMO activities, project controlling, risk and dependency management, stakeholder management, reporting, and coordination of project teams.

The position requires strong experience in both traditional and agile project management methodologies, as well as excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently lead complex IT projects and highly complex sub-projects.
• Take overall responsibility for the planning, coordination, and execution of projects from solution development through implementation and commissioning.
• Manage project schedules, milestones, dependencies, requirements, deliverables, budgets, and project activities.
• Perform comprehensive project planning and controlling.
• Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to agreed objectives, milestones, requirements, delivery units, contributions, and budget.
• Identify, assess, and manage:
• Changes
• Configurations
• Escalations
• Perform comprehensive PMO activities, including risk management, database maintenance, project coordination, and reporting.
• Plan, organize, moderate, and document project meetings and workshops.
• Maintain project information and documentation in:
• Microsoft Project
• Microsoft SharePoint
• Atlassian Jira
• Manage stakeholders across different organizational levels.
• Coordinate conflicting objectives and interests and support effective decision-making.
• Lead communication with project stakeholders, management, customers, suppliers, and project teams.
• Participate in committees and governance meetings.
• Prepare regular project reports, presentations, and management information.
• Create and maintain project guidelines, specifications, and other required documentation.
• Support quality assurance activities and ensure structured project documentation.
• Coordinate administrative project activities, including meeting coordination, employee onboarding and offboarding, list maintenance, and data reconciliation.
• Support special project topics and additional strategic or operational activities as required.
• Ensure transparent, consistent, and traceable project information throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Successfully completed degree in:
• Computer Science / Business Informatics
• A comparable IT-related discipline
• Business Administration / Economics
• Alternatively, a recognized vocational qualification in an IT or commercial field.
• German: C1, according to CEFR.
• Recognized project management certification, such as:
• PMI PMP
• Formal training or certification in agile methodologies.
• Strong knowledge of general project management methodologies and agile approaches.
• Practical experience with:
• Microsoft Office

• Microsoft Project

Professional Experience

The successful candidate should demonstrate:

• At least 6 years of professional experience leading highly complex IT projects.
• At least 2 years of experience working in agile projects.
• Proven experience applying established project management methodologies.
• Experience managing projects from solution development through implementation and commissioning.
• Strong experience in project controlling, including:
• Schedules
• Milestones
• Requirements
• Budget
• Risks
• Experience in senior stakeholder management and conflict-of-interest management.
• Experience with PMO activities and project governance.
• Experience preparing project reports and management documentation.
• Experience working with project management and collaboration tools such as MS Project, SharePoint, and Jira.
