Hyundai Motorsport GmbH, based in Alzenau near Frankfurt, seeks a Senior Powertrain Support Engineer to oversee powertrain activities during in-car tests and events. You will lead calibration planning, monitor data, and report results while coordinating with engineers and drivers in a dynamic motorsport team.

Ideal candidates have an MSc/MEng in automotive engineering, hands-on engine calibration experience, and fluent English.

Qualifikationen

• Master level degree in mechanical/automotive engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in motorsport environments (WRC/Endurance/GT/F1).
• Strong understanding of internal combustion race engines.

Based in Alzenau near Frankfurt in Germany, Hyundai Motorsport GmbH is responsible for Hyundai’s global motorsport activities and primarily for its World Rally Championship program. We are currently seeking for a Senior Powertrain Support Engineer who will be responsible for overseeing and monitoring powertrain activities during in-car tests and events.

Main tasks

• Show responsibility for the powertrain management system strategies and calibration preparation prior to events and tests
• Responsibility of the powertrain specific test plan preparation and achievement during tests
• Monitor engine and gearbox data during tests and events (fire ups, roll-outs, tests,...)
• Responsible of powertrain reporting after tests and events, including testing results, calibration, problems
• Liaise with the rest of the event team, including engineers and drivers for all that is powertrain related
• Responsible of powertrain activities, engine mechanics job during events
• Be a source of proposals for technical problems solving and performance improvements within the Powertrain group
• Support dyno calibration activities when needed

Qualifications

• M.Sc. or MEng with a technical engineering background in engine
• Previous experience in the motorsport environment (WRC, Endurance, GT, F1,...)
• A good understanding of internal combustion race engine fundamentals
• Experience of engine calibration
• Fluent English is compulsory
• Excellent communication skills
• Knowledge of Engine Management Systems and data analysis (Marelli or equivalent)
• Flexible approach to working hours and tasks is essential
