Job summary

Motorsport Network, LLC is seeking a creative Development & Calibration Engineer to join our Powertrain - Engine department. You will engage in powertrain system thermo-fluids modelling and performance analysis to help us deliver a world-class product that gives us a competitive edge.

Key tasks include taking responsibility for powertrain calibration at the test bench and, if required, at the race track, developing robust models and collaborating with senior engineers to push analytical

Qualifications

  • Master’s or Ph.D. in engineering with ICE focus required.
  • Minimum 5 years in high-performance or motorsport powertrains.
  • Experience with hybrid powertrains is highly beneficial.
  • Strong skills in powertrain test bench calibration and development.
  • Proficiency with programming/scripting languages.
  • Formula SAE experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of ICE/powertrain testing and metrology.

Responsibilities

  • Calibrate powertrain at test bench and on-track when required.
  • Develop innovative, robust models to address engineering challenges.
  • Analyze powertrain performance to inform product improvements.
  • Collaborate with a team while owning concept evaluation and analysis.
  • Interact with development teams to advance end-product quality.
  • Create and validate novel engineering solutions with autonomy.
  • Work with skilled engineers to deliver a world-class product.

Job description

We are currently looking for a creative Development & Calibration Engineer to join our Powertrain - Engine department. As part of our team, you will be involved with powertrain system thermo-fluids modelling and performance analysis to help us produce a world-class product that will give us a competitive advantage.

Main tasks

  • Take responsibility for powertrain calibration at the test bench and – if required – at the race track.
  • Be challenged to provide innovative solutions to real engineering issues, which directly benefit our product.
  • Act as a part of a team, while being wholly responsible for concept evaluation and analysis.
  • Engage in a high level of interaction with the development of our end products.
  • Enjoy the autonomy to create and validate novel engineering solutions.
  • Take the opportunity to be innovative, as you create robust and versatile models.
  • Work with highly skilled engineers whereby you will experience problems and create solutions, which are expected in order to deliver a world-class product.
  • Hone your engineering skills in a role that will stretch your capability, knowledge, and scope.

Qualification

  • Master’s or Ph.D. in a relevant engineering subject and a higher degree involving ICE (Internal Combustion Engines).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in high-performance or motorsport powertrains.
  • Experience with hybrid powertrains is highly beneficial.
  • Display good knowledge and experience with state-of-the-art TC-DI engine development with a main focus on powertrain test bench calibration and development.
  • Proficiency with programming/scripting languages.
  • Formula SAE experience is highly preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge in the field of ICE/powertrain testing and metrology.
  • A good understanding of internal combustion engine and powertrain fundamentals.
  • Capability with the application of test bench automation, combustion analysis, and CAN bus architecture.
  • Competence in data post-processing tools (Wintax, ATLAS, etc.).
  • Proficient in English.
  • Proficient in German (or willingness to learn it) is a plus.
