Sie verantworten die Weiterentwicklung der COTS-Hardwareplattform für Live-Video-Systeme weltweit und arbeiten eng mit Produktmanagement, Software-Engineering, Fertigung, Einkauf und Qualität zusammen. Sie bringen mehrjährige Erfahrung im Design, der Qualifizierung und Optimierung komplexer PC-/Server-Plattformen mit und beherrschen Windows- sowie Linux-Umgebungen, idealerweise im

Qualifikationen

• Universitätsabschluss in einer technischen Disziplin oder vergleichbare Berufsausbildung.
• Mehrjährige praktische Erfahrung im Design, Aufbau, Qualifizierung oder Fehlerbehebung komplexer PC-/Server-Plattformen.
• Starkes Verständnis von Systemarchitekturen und der Interaktion von CPU/GPU, Audio, Netzwerk, Storage, Betriebssystemen.
• Nachweisliche Fähigkeit, Systemleistung zu analysieren, Engpässe zu identifizieren und Windows- oder Linux-Plattformen zu optimieren.
• Erfahrung in technischer Dokumentation und Ableitung robuster Engineering-Lösungen.

Aufgaben

• Eigenständige Weiterentwicklung der COTS-Hardwareplattform für Live-Video-Systeme weltweit.
• Bewertung, Qualifizierung und Optimierung von Architekturen und Interaktionen zwischen CPU/GPU, Netzwerk, Storage und OS.
• Übersetzung von Produkt- und Softwareanforderungen in leistungsstarke Plattformlösungen.
• Konfiguration und Optimierung von Windows- und Linux-Systemen für Echtzeit-Video- und Audiolasten (SMPTE ST 2110).
• Definition von Qualifikationsstrategien für Leistung, Wärmeverhalten, Zuverlässigkeit und Lifecycle.
• Entwicklung und Pflege validierter Plattformkonfigurationen, Systemabbilder und Firmware-Baselines.
• Führung des Hardware-Lifecycle-Managements, Bauteil-Auswahl, Lieferantenabstimmung.
• Technischer Experte für Plattformhardware, enge Zusammenarbeit mit PM, Software, Produktion, Einkauf, Qualität.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own and evolve the COTS hardware platform foundation for RIEDEL's live video production systems used worldwide.


• Evaluate, qualify, and optimize system architectures and interactions between compute (CPU/GPU), video, networking, storage, operating systems, and application workloads.


• Translate product and software requirements into high-performance, reliable, ruggedized, and manufacturable platform solutions.


• Configure and tune Windows and Linux systems for demanding real-time video and audio workloads, including SMPTE ST 2110 environments.


• Define and execute qualification strategies for performance, thermal behavior, reliability, and lifecycle readiness.


• Develop and maintain validated platform configurations, system images, firmware baselines, and deployment standards.


• Drive hardware lifecycle management, component selection, supplier alignment, and platform transition strategies.


• Act as the technical expert for platform hardware, collaborating closely with Product Management, Software Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Quality teams.

THAT'S YOU

• A university degree in a technical discipline or a relevant vocational training paired with professional experience


• Several years of hands‑on experience designing, building, qualifying, or troubleshooting complex PC and server platforms


• Strong understanding of system architectures and the interaction between compute (CPU/GPU), audio, networking, storage, operating systems, and application workloads


• Proven ability to analyze system performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize Windows and/or Linux platforms


• Experience documenting technical findings and converting them into robust, reproducible engineering solutions


• Background in product engineering, IT infrastructure, broadcast technology, high-performance computing, embedded systems, or similar performance‑critical environments


• Experience with real‑time media processing, broadcast video workflows, virtualization, hardware lifecycle management, or ruggedized systems is a strong advantage


• Fluent English and German skills in combination with a collaborative, hands‑on mindset and a passion for solving complex technical challenges
