Just Eat Takeaway.com is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to support the DACH region, with a primary focus on Germany. The role is a maternity cover for 12 months in a hybrid setup (3 days in Berlin office, 2 days remote).

The successful candidate will manage payroll operations across Germany, coordinate with external providers, and advise on local legislation. You will join our People Team and contribute to accurate, timely payroll across Europe.

Qualificações

• Several years of German payroll experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Advanced Excel skills including Pivot tables and VLookup.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
• Organised with excellent time management and attention to detail.

Responsabilidades

• Process preparatory payroll in the DACH region, with Germany as the main focus.
• Ensure employees are paid on the payroll schedule and on time.
• Reconcile tax and social security deductions and file/pay on time.
• Process payments and deductions including salary, benefits, pension and shares.
• Manage payroll data and provide information to Finance and other teams.
• Handle payroll queries via the ticketing system and ensure accuracy.

The successful candidate will play a fundamental role in our fantastic HR Team as (Sr.) Payroll Specialist supporting the preparation of an accurate and timely payroll. They will be responsible for payroll operations within each country (DACH) and provide legislative guidance to employees and the business for their specific jurisdictions.

The role is to be hybrid - 3 days office, 2 days remote home office.

Key Responsibilities

• Process preparatory payroll in the DACH region, Germany being the main focus, in close collaboration with external payroll providers.
• Ensure all employees are paid in accordance with the payroll schedule.
• Reconcile all tax and social security deductions, ensuring they are filed and paid accurately and on time.
• Process all payments and deductions accurately and timely including salary, benefits, pension and shares.
• Manage and analyse our payroll data to ensure accuracy and provide key information to other teams in the business (eg. Finance).
• Prepare ad-hoc variable data for submission via the agreed templates, ensuring accuracy.
• Manage our People Portal (ticketing system) and respond to payroll queries timely and in a way that aligns with our values.
• Review output reports from payroll provider, ensuring all instructions have been correctly interpreted and processed 100% accurately.
• Check payroll integrations have been processed successfully by our Payroll Provider for starters, leavers, permanent/variable changes, and absence.
• Manage Long Term Sickness, Maternity/Adoption/Paternity.
• Process leavers holiday balances.
• Collate data from approved data submitters, ensuring it is duly authorised.
• Manage detailed payroll check lists and prepare for Manager review at submission, pre-approval, month end and quarter end stages.
• Check accuracy of GL outputs and manage query resolution.
• Actively participate in team meetings and training exercises.
• Remain updated in payroll legislation and self develop through our Talent Development library.
• Support continuous improvement of payroll processes and usage of systems.
• Communicate with providers on a regular basis to ensure schemes are kept up to date.
• Opportunities for development and involvement in broader Payroll activities.

Your Profile & Experience

• Several years German payroll experience in a fast paced environment.
• A team player with the ability to take initiative and lead by example.
• Excellent interpersonal skills - treats people with respect; is approachable, open and direct; develops effective working relationships with staff at all levels.
• Organised with strong time management skills.
• High degree of PC literacy with advanced Excel (Pivots and VLookups).
• Flexible approach to work, responsibilities and deadlines.
• Able to balance and reconcile payrolls.
• Maintains an up to date knowledge of all payroll legislation.
• High level of attention to detail with good analytical and numeracy skills.
• Bonus: Experience with Swiss and Austrian payrolls
