Job summary

International Rescue Committee IRC Deutschland is seeking a Senior Officer Fundraising Development to plan and create content that inspires donations and strengthens donor engagement in Germany. You will drive two pillars—content development and programme development—across digital channels, with a strong emphasis on ROI and KPI tracking.

You will collaborate with teams across markets, test formats, and optimize campaigns to maximize fundraising revenue while delivering a great donor experience.

Qualifications

• Relevant university degree or equivalent practical experience (2–4 years) in donor and/or customer acquisition, retention, and content development, ideally in a non-profit or NGO context.
• Proven ability using analytics and reporting to inform channel and content decisions and measure success against key KPIs, primarily ROI.
• Experience creating and adapting fundraising content and messaging across formats and channels, including design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Cloud, especially Adobe Premiere.
• Experience using Salesforce or an equivalent CRM
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills in German (C1 level or above) and fluent in English.
• Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office (especially Excel)

• Analyse web and digital campaign performance across IRC Germany's fundraising efforts, and use the findings to guide content and testing decisions and give prospects and supporters a great digital experience.
• Take responsibility for how your activity performs against agreed KPIs and income targets, and make sure campaign reports capture learnings for future activity.

Founded in 1933 at the call of Albert Einstein, the IRC offers lifesaving care and life-changing assistance to refugees forced to flee from war or disaster. In 2016, IRC Germany was founded and engages in global humanitarian work as well as throughout Germany in the areas of education, economic wellbeing, and safety, legal protection, and empowerment.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The role is situated within IRC's Mass Market Fundraising Team (MMDE), which is responsible for the acquisition, development and stewardship of individual donors in Germany, with the primary goal of maximizing the lifetime value of new and existing donors.

As Senior officer Fundraising development, you play a key role in planning and creating content and communications that inspire donations and promote an engaging donor experience. Your work focuses on strengthening donor engagement and increasing fundraising revenue. YOUR PROFILE

Essential:

• Relevant university degree or equivalent practical experience (at least 2-4 years) in donor and/or customer acquisition, retention, and content development, ideally in a non-profit or NGO context
• Proven ability using analytics and reporting to inform channel and content decisions and measure success against key KPIs, primarily ROI
• Experience creating and adapting fundraising content and messaging across formats and channels, including design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Cloud, especially Adobe Premiere
• Experience using Salesforce or an equivalent CRM
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills in German (C1 level or above, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, CEFR), and fluent in English
• Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office (especially Excel)

Desirable:

• Experience working with agencies, external consultants, and vendors
• Experience and knowledge in applying AI tools to support fundraising activities, such as content creation, campaign optimization, or data analysis

Preferred:

• Experience working in a centralized or international organization, or in other cross-team and cross-country collaboration
