Job summary

Trade Republic Bank GmbH, based in Berlin, is seeking a senior liquidity risk professional to own the ILAAP framework, governance, and model validation. You will collaborate with product teams and treasury to manage liquidity risk and ensure compliant, robust reporting.

You will analyze daily risk positions, validate models, and contribute to external and internal stakeholder communications. A strong quantitative background and programming skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Economics, Mathematics, Physics or similar with quantitative background.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and risk management techniques, including market and credit risk.
• Advanced programming skills with Python, R, C++, Java; comfortable with databases (SQL).
• Experience in ILAAP, liquidity risk management and related governance is essential.

Responsibilities

• Own the bank-wide ILAAP framework including governance, quantification, stress testing and reporting.
• Serve as key counterpart for product teams and treasury on liquidity matters.
• Analyze and monitor liquidity risk daily; provide insights to management.
• Review and update guidelines for internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare ongoing and ad hoc reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Plan and conduct regular ad hoc validations of liquidity risk models.
• Engage with model owners and development teams to challenge liquidity positions.
• Deliver model validation analysis and reports for senior management and committees.

What You'll Be Doing

• Take charge of the bank-wide ILAAP Framework including Governance, Quantification Methods, ILAAP Stress Testing Framework and Reporting Framework
• Being the key counterpart for product teams and treasury for all liquidity related matters
• Analyze and control Trade Republic's liquidity risk profile on a daily basis and provide insights information for our Management
• Review and update guidelines and documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant internal policies, standards, and regulatory requirements
• Ongoing and ad hoc Reporting to internal and external stakeholders
• Plan and initial, regular and ad-hoc validations of liquidity risk models
• Engage with model owners in the 1LoD as well as business and development experts to ensure the liquidity positions are effectively challenged and risk arising from Model deficiencies are identified and addressed
• Deliver model validation analysis and reports in support of senior management and committee review

What We Look For

Education and technical skills

• Master's Degree + in Economics, Mathematics, Physics or similar disciplines. Quantitative background is a requirement
• Very good knowledge of the regulatory Requirements
• Very good knowledge of risk management techniques and risk quantification methods, especially market and credit risk
• Advanced programming skills (e.g. Python, R, C++, Java), experienced with databases (e.g. SQL)

Experience

5+ Years of relevant professional experience in one or more of the below Fields :

• ERM/Risk Controlling with a Tier1 Bank or a Fintech in the EU
• FRM advisory or audit for a Tier1 Audit or Advisory Firm
• Working for banking regulatory or supervisory bodies in the EU
• Experience in liquidity risk management
• Experience in IRRBB and/or CSRBB

• Resilient self-starter with the tendency to think critically and challenge others
• Efficient team player with a high degree of organizational self-reliance
• Outstanding analytical skill set, high attention to detail and ability to quickly understand new and complex topics
• Great communication skills with the ability to address the needs of different stakeholder types (engineers, senior management, product managers, etc.)
