Zusammenfassung

netcup is seeking a Senior Linux System Administrator / Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to strengthen our Platform team in Karlsruhe. You will perform deep technical analysis, manage major incidents, and support the service desk with escalations while shaping standards and automation.

We expect strong Linux expertise, networking knowledge, and scripting skills with Puppet experience. Excellent German and good English are required for this role in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.

Qualifikationen

• Completed IT training or degree and/or professional experience in comparable positions.
• Advanced knowledge of administering common Linux distributions (Debian/Ubuntu, RHEL-based like AlmaLinux/Rocky Linux).
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and analytical skills.
• Good understanding of networks and scripting (Bash, Python) and configuration management.

At netcup, we’re building the Platform department: a technical team that bridges infrastructure and operations, responsible for stability, further development, and in-depth root cause analysis. Your Tasks

• In-depth technical analysis and long-term root cause resolution for complex problems
• Management of complex incidents that go beyond day-to-day operations
• Supporting our 3rd-level service desk with escalations

Your Profile

• Advanced knowledge of administering common Linux distributions (particularly Debian/Ubuntu, RHEL-based distributions such as AlmaLinux/Rocky Linux, etc.)
• Very strong troubleshooting, documentation, and analytical skills
• Good understanding of networks (troubleshooting) as well as solid experience with configuration management (e.g., Puppet) and scripting (Bash, Python)
• Systematic and analytical thinking, as well as the ability to work independently and focus on solutions
• Ability to work well in a team and strong communication skills
• Excellent German and good English skills
