Job summary

Vesoma seeks a hands-on legal professional to lead the German legal function of its international robotics startup, based in Munich with group HQ in Limassol. You will be the first lawyer on the ground in Germany, working alongside the Group General Counsel in Cyprus.

You will establish the legal framework, draft and negotiate contracts, oversee regulatory compliance across EU/Germany, and support growth through structuring, IP, and governance in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years' in legal or corporate law roles with strong exposure to German corporate and commercial law.
• Regulated products experience: certification, product safety or manufacturing environment (automotive, industrial machinery, robotics, medical devices) is advantageous.
• Core Skills: international group structures; Cyprus/EU cross-border setups; EU regulatory frameworks relevant to robotics, AI and hardware; excellent English drafting; German fluency.
• Mindset: structured thinking, methodical problem solving, proactive and hands-on; comfortable being the sole counsel with GC accessible.

Responsibilities

• Establish and oversee the legal framework for the German operating company in line with group standards.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, NDAs, partnerships and licensing agreements, manufacturing and supplier terms.
• Oversee regulatory matters including EU AI Act, EU Machinery Regulation, Cyber Resilience Act, CE marking, product compliance, NIS2, GDPR.
• Support trade compliance and export controls as the platform scales across Europe.
• Handle German employment law matters including works council and co-determination.
• Oversee IP matters with external counsel: patents, trademarks, copyright and licensing.
• Contribute to international structuring, investment rounds and due-diligence preparation.
• Assist in intercompany arrangements with finance teams.
• Liaise with regulators, notaries and authorities in Germany and EU as required.
• Develop internal legal policies, templates and approval workflows.
• Support management with legal insight and risk assessment.

Your mission

We are looking for a hands-on legal professional to lead the German legal function of an international robotics startup, with a strong operational footprint in Munich, Germany and group headquarters in Limassol, Cyprus. You will be the first lawyer on the ground in Germany, working alongside the Group General Counsel located in Cyprus.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and oversee the legal framework for the German operating company, aligned with group standards.

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, NDAs, partnership and licensing agreements, manufacturing and supplier terms.

• Oversee regulatory matters, including EU AI Act, EU Machinery Regulation, Cyber Resilience Act, CE marking, product compliance, NIS2, GDPR, and other applicable EU and German requirements (with external specialists where needed).

• Support trade compliance and export-control obligations as the robotics platform scales across Europe and potentially internationally.

• Handle German employment law matters, including works council (Betriebsrat) and co-determination obligations as the entity grows.

• Oversee IP matters together with external counsel: patents, trademarks, copyright, and technology licensing - together with external patent counsel and the Group General Counsel.

• Contribute to international structuring, investment rounds, and due-diligence preparation.

• Assist in intercompany arrangements together with finance teams.

• Liaise with regulators, notaries, and other authorities in Germany, and elsewhere in the EU where required.

• Develop internal legal policies, templates, and approval workflows to streamline operations.

• Support the German management team or the Group in operational decisions with legal insight and risk assessment.

Your profile

We seek a legal professional who values structure, diligence, and sound judgment, and who enjoys providing strategic legal guidance in a fast-growing, dynamic organisation.

• Experience: 7+ years' in legal or corporate law roles, with strong exposure to German corporate and commercial law.

• Regulated products: demonstrable experience with physical products in a certification, product safety or manufacturing environment - automotive, industrial machinery, robotics, medical devices or similar is an advantage.

• Core Skills: Experience with international group structures; familiarity with Cyprus/EU cross-border setups is a plus. Solid understanding of EU regulatory frameworks relevant to robotics, AI, and hardware products. Excellent English drafting and communication skills; German fluency required. Experience in top-tier law firms or in-house roles in tech/industrial companies is an advantage.
