GeneralMind in Berlin is seeking its first Legal Counsel to build the function from the ground up, handling contracts and regulatory considerations for cutting-edge AI deployments across Europe.
You will negotiate SaaS agreements, DPAs, and employment contracts, assist with fundraising and due diligence, and develop clear guidance on risk and compliance as the company grows in a fast-paced, cross-border environment.
About GeneralMind
GeneralMind builds AI Systems of Action for complex enterprise workflows. We deploy AI employees that automate messy operational handovers across supply chains - processing orders, validating invoices, coordinating suppliers, and handling exceptions directly on top of enterprise systems like SAP, Oracle, JDE, and Dynamics.
Our platform combines AI agents, operational context graphs, and real transaction data to achieve Autopilot-grade automation in real operational environments.
We work closely with leading global companies across manufacturing, retail, and logistics to deploy AI into mission-critical workflows.
About the role
As our first Legal Counsel, you'll own and build the Legal function at GeneralMind from the ground up. Selling AI automation into large enterprises means complex contracts, challenging negotiations, and navigating a fast-moving regulatory landscape around AI and data.
You'll own matters end to end: The legal side of every contract we sign, and the framework and processes that let us deploy into data-sensitive environments across Europe and the world.
Negotiate SaaS agreements, NDAs, DPAs, and security and AI terms from first conversation to signature.
Drive fundraising processes and negotiations alongside the founders through due diligence and deal documentation.
Own employment contracts and corporate matters as we grow.
Develop clear guidance on regulation and risk surrounding our business.
You’re a qualified lawyer licensed in Germany with 1-2 years of experience; prior experience with technology companies and/or high growth startups is a plus.
You're business savvy and understand the legal needs of fast-growing companies.
You make pragmatic calls that keep us moving, and you have the confidence to flag risks and walk away when needed.
You’re comfortable working beyond German law. You get up to speed quickly on cross-border topics and know when to bring in local counsel.
You're excited to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with both internal and external stakeholders.
You have excellent communication skills.
You're fluent in German and English.
