EGYM is building the world’s best fitness platform and we are looking for a (Senior) Legal Counsel (m/f/d) – Commercial/IP Law in our Munich headquarters. You will be a strategic partner to the Sales, Product, Marketing and Leadership teams, blending strategic guidance, hands‑on execution and cross‑functional collaboration to keep EGYM both compliant and competitive.

Responsibilities
  • Commercial Leadership – Drive and evolve our commercial contract framework, standardise legal processes for sales and marketing and ensure strong compliance across commercial activities and regions.
  • Contracting – Review draft and negotiate complex commercial agreements (framework, distribution, licensing, service agreements, general terms and conditions) and create lean, business‑friendly templates.
  • IP Management – Administer and maintain our global IP portfolio (trademarks, patents, designs) and provide foundational legal advice on IP matters arising in commercial transactions.
  • Operational Excellence – Simplify, standardise and continuously improve commercial operations in partnership with Sales, Marketing and Product teams.
  • Coordination – Manage and align the work of global and regional legal experts, ensuring consistent guidance and efficient execution across jurisdictions.
  • Advisory – Act as a trusted partner to sales and product teams, embedding early in business development, product launches and international rollouts to spot risks and find solutions.
  • Scaling – Lead or contribute to cross‑functional and global projects, aligning stakeholders on priorities, goals and expectations.
Qualifications
  • Qualification – You are a fully qualified lawyer (2. Staatsexamen or equivalent in another jurisdiction; additional qualifications as LL.M are a plus).
  • Experience – 2 years in commercial law with high‑volume, complex commercial agreements in a reputable law firm or in‑house (ideally in a digital‑first or tech‑focused organization) and experience with IP management (trademarks/patents).
  • Mindset – You are business‑oriented, pragmatic and collaborative, capable of prioritising according to business risk and value.
  • Skills – You possess strong drafting and negotiation skills and can translate legal requirements into clear operational actions.
  • Languages – Fluent in English (incl. legal terminology) and professional in German.
  • Bonus – Experience with competition law or digital media/marketing law is a plus.
First 6 Months
  • Visibility & Inventory – Establish a clear living overview of core commercial contracts and key IP assets focusing on the most critical areas.
  • Tooling & Templates – Deliver a lean commercial ops toolkit (standard sales contract templates, T&Cs) and refresh core IP management processes.
  • Enablement – Become the go‑to partner for Sales and Marketing, embedded in key deal negotiations and brand initiatives.
  • Coordination – Build an effective collaboration model with global/regional legal experts, including streamlined intake and alignment processes.
  • Execution – Close the first set of strategic commercial deals while balancing compliance speed and business needs.
