Zusammenfassung

SD Worx is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel for Germany to support the business on commercial, contract and IT law matters. You will collaborate with colleagues across Europe and Mauritius, reporting to the Director Legal Business Partners.

You will be part of a multinational legal team providing proactive legal support, drafting templates, and guiding strategic projects. The role includes travel within Germany and remote/workflex options.

Qualifikationen

• Master's degree in German law is required.
• Minimum 10 years of experience as attorney or in-house counsel focusing on commercial, contract or IT law.
• Excellent German and English communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Ability to translate legal complexity into pragmatic business advice.

Aufgaben

• Provide legal advice to internal stakeholders in a wide range of matters (risk analysis, ad-hoc questions, project support).
• Negotiate, draft and review commercial agreements (customer, supplier, terms and conditions).
• Offer timely, proactive and pragmatic legal guidance.
• Support handling of claims and liaise with external experts/lawyers.
• Create and update legal templates and best practices per corporate guidelines.
• Monitor new local legislation impacting the business and participate in Germany Management Team.

About the role:

As Senior Legal Counsel for Germany you will be working closely with your German colleagues and the other Legal Counsels in Europe and Mauritius to support the SD Worx business on a wide range of legal matters. You will report to our Director Legal Business Partners.

Our legal team provides proactive and practical legal support and advises the business of the SD Worx group on a wide range of legal questions, with a focus on commercial law, contract law and IT law. You will also partner with internal and external stakeholders to help implement strategic projects across the group. This allows you to have an impact on the growing business of SD Worx.

You will become part of a dynamic, multinational legal team. Our current corporate legal team works from Belgium (HQ), Germany, Spain, Sweden, Poland, Mauritius, United Kingdom and Ireland and consists of 22 legal counsels in different expert areas.

Which tasks can you expect?

• Provide legal advice to the internal stakeholders of our German business in a variety of legal matters (e.g. risk analysis, ad-hoc question, supporting in projects, etc).

• Negotiating, drafting and reviewing a wide range of commercial agreements such as customer agreements, supplier agreements, general terms and conditions, etc.

• Give accurate, proactive and pragmatic legal advice in a timely and efficient manner.

• Provide legal support for the effective handling of claims and following-up litigations with external experts/lawyers.

• Create and update legal templates and best practices in line with corporate guidelines.

• Following up on new local legislation which can have an impact on our local business.

• Participate in the Management Team of Germany on a regular basis, with possibility to travel to locations within Germany several times a year.

• Contribute to the communication and implementation of the legal policies, templates, guidelines and processes and provide training to our internal stakeholders in this regard.

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the legal department.

What do you have to offer?

• A Master's degree in German law.

• Minimum 10 years’ experience as an attorney and/or as an in-house legal counsel with a focus on the following areas of law: Commercial law, Contract law and/or IT law.

• Effective communication skills in German and English (orally and in writing).

• Business mindset with the ability to turn legal complexity into pragmatic advice that is understandable for people without a legal background.

• Organizational skills that allow you to plan and prioritize projects, as well as strong analytical, negotiation and contract drafting skills.

• Proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering high-quality work. Hands-on and can-do mentality.

• Be a team player, yet able to work autonomously.

• High level of integrity, professionalism, intellectual curiosity and eagerness to learn and grow.
