Job summary

FORMEL SKIN, based in Berlin, seeks an exceptional Legal Counsel (m/w/d) to own all legal and data protection matters for its German operations. You will be the sole on-ground legal presence in Germany, working closely with the UK Group Legal team at HQ on regulatory compliance and business contracts.

The role requires a fully qualified lawyer in Germany with 4+ PQE, fluent in German and English, and a valid work permit. Hybrid work arrangement includes three days in Berlin.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified lawyer in Germany (German Volljurist).
• Minimum 4+ years of Post-Qualification Experience (PQE).
• Experience as sole or lead counsel with minimal supervision.
• Fluent in German and English (written and spoken).
• Valid work permit for Germany (mandatory for non-EU citizens).

Responsibilities

• Manage litigation risk and compliance for medicinal products/devices.
• Advise product/engineering teams on healthcare and AI regulations.
• Draft/negotiate German-law commercial agreements and contracts.
• Review marketing/medical communications for German advertising compliance.
• Lead GDPR/BDSG compliance and data protection governance.
• Oversee corporate governance, filings, and board documentation.
• Provide employment law guidance on hiring/terminations/work councils.
• Develop scalable legal operations and contract-management tools.

Based in Berlin on a hybrid schedule, this senior, highly autonomous role serves as the sole legal presence on the ground in Germany, working closely with the UK Group Legal team at HQ.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Fully qualified lawyer in Germany (Volljurist/Volljuristin).
• Minimum of 4+ years of Post-Qualification Experience (PQE).
• Demonstrable experience operating as sole or lead counsel without close supervision.
• Fluent in German and English (both written and spoken).
• Valid work permit for Germany (mandatory for non-EU citizens).
