Job summary

Clera is seeking a hands-on engineer to join an early-stage team building AI-powered tools for freight and logistics. You will work closely with operations to understand complex workflows and turn requirements into reliable production software.

You will partner with logistics teams to design systems, build with TypeScript/Node.js, and integrate with enterprise APIs. Expect travel to customer sites in Europe and Asia, and a hybrid Berlin-based work arrangement.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience building full-stack applications or backend systems in production.
• Strong TypeScript and Node.js skills; React or another frontend framework is a plus.
• Experience designing APIs, integrating external/enterprise systems, and building data pipelines.
• Experience building and maintaining backend infrastructure using Docker, Terraform, GCP or AWS.
• Clear communication skills and experience working directly with customers or end users.

• Partner with logistics teams to understand their workflows and translate requirements into system designs.
• Build AI-powered full-stack tools using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Integrate with enterprise systems, APIs, event queues, and file transfer systems.
• Build reliable data pipelines that handle messy information from multiple sources.
• Help shape product direction and technical decisions with the engineering team.
• Own work from design through deployment, iterate based on feedback, and travel regularly to customer sites in Europe and Asia.

What We're Looking For

• At least 3 years of experience building full-stack applications or backend systems in production.
• Strong TypeScript and Node.js skills, with React or another modern frontend framework as a plus.
• Experience designing APIs, integrating external and enterprise systems, and building data pipelines.
• Experience building and maintaining backend infrastructure, and working with tools such as Docker, Terraform, GCP, or AWS.
• Clear communication skills and experience working directly with customers or end users.
• Interest or experience in logistics, supply chain, AI/LLM architectures, or early-stage environments is beneficial.
• Willingness to work hybrid from Berlin and travel regularly to customer sites.
