Xcede seeks a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer to join our AI & Enterprise Solutions practice in Berlin or with hybrid remote options. You will work directly with our enterprise accounts, bridging core product capabilities with production-grade deployments.

You will code, integrate data, design AI workflows, and ship bespoke solutions in customer environments, using Python/Java/TypeScript, React front-ends, and modern cloud stacks. Fluency in English is required; German is a plus.

About the Role

Are you a heavy-hitting Software Engineer who loves solving complex technical problems but hates being buried behind endless, back-office Jira tickets? Do you thrive when sitting at the intersection of deep engineering, production-grade AI architecture, and real-world customer impact?

We are looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to act as the ultimate elite builder-consultant. In this role, you won't just build software in a vacuum - you will be embedded with our most strategic enterprise accounts to bridge the gap between core product capabilities and production-grade reality. You will move beyond high-level architecture to code, debug, map legacy data landscapes, and ship bespoke, mission-critical solutions directly within customer environments.

What You Will Do

• Embed & Build: Partner closely with enterprise engineering teams and stakeholders to run technical discovery, define requirements, and ship end-to-end solutions.
• Data Integration & Migration: Own the complexity of moving customer data from legacy systems into modern cloud infrastructures, building robust ETL pipelines and API connectors.
• AI & Solution Architecture: Architect and deploy production-grade AI workflows, RAG systems, and agentic tools, utilizing AI coding assistants to move fast across polyglot stacks.
• Product Feedback Loop: Act as the ultimate line of defense in the field. Turn real-world friction and deployment blockers into actionable feedback for our Core Product and R&D teams to shape the future road map.
• Deliver Rapid Value: Build lightweight custom UIs (React/TypeScript) or low-code automation wrappers where speed is required, ensuring every deployment delivers measurable ROI.

What You

• Bring The Code: 5+ years of hands-on software development experience with a strong backend focus, ideally in Python, Java, Go, or TypeScript.
• The Mindset: Proven experience in a customer-facing or field-facing capacity (e.g., as a Solutions Engineer, Tech Consultant, or Early-stage Founding Engineer). You can translate deep tech into business value.
• The Data Skills: Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), REST/GraphQL APIs, database schema design, and data validation/reconciliation.
• AI Literacy: Active, day-to-day use of AI coding tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, etc.) and familiarity with modern LLM/vector database setups is highly preferred.
• Language: Fluency in written and spoken English (C1+). Professional German language skills are a massive advantage but not mandatory.
