DARK MATTER redefines the interfaces between technology, creativity and interaction in order to create space for personal sensory experiences.
DARK MATTER is an exhibition made of expansive light installations within a converted factory. The exhibition introduces new and technical concepts, most of which will be made visible to the public for the very first time.
Tasks
- Commissioning, supervision, and shutdown of technical systems and installations in daily operation
- Troubleshooting and resolution of complex technical issues
- Full responsibility for the operation and optimization of light and sound installations (with strong focus on lighting)
- Programming and operation of lighting consoles (e.g. GrandMA)
- Working with and supporting control systems and media servers (e.g. TouchDesigner, Resolume, Madrix, Beyond)
- Maintenance and servicing of technical equipment and building systems
- Installation, supervision, and dismantling of technical equipment for temporary indoor and outdoor events (concerts, shows, parties)
- Ensuring high technical quality and smooth execution of installations and daily operations
- Supporting and guiding less experienced technicians when needed
- Contributing to the improvement and optimization of technical processes
Requirements
- Completed education as an event technician and qualification as Meister für Veranstaltungstechnik (or equivalent)
- At least 3 years of professional experience in event technology
- Strong experience with lighting consoles and control systems (especially GrandMA)
- Experience with media servers and control software
- Very good understanding of lighting systems, fixtures, and technical setups
- Experience with troubleshooting and working in complex technical environments
- Hands‑on mentality and very strong technical understanding
- Structured and solution‑oriented way of working, even under pressure
- Strong team player with the ability to take responsibility on‑site
- Very good English skills (German is a plus, but not mandatory)
- Willingness to work weekends when required
