Job summary

The Green Recruitment Company seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to focus on the DC side of utility-scale solar PV projects in Berlin. You will engage in hands-on engineering, review DC designs, and work with the project team to translate designs into constructed assets.

The role covers design development from concept through commissioning, with collaboration across development, construction and technical teams. Fluent German and good English are required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar discipline.
• Several years of experience in electrical engineering, ideally Solar PV.
• Fluent German and good English.

Responsibilities

Senior Electrical Engineer – Solar PV (DC)

We are working with a well-established pan-European IPP operating across the wind, solar PV and BESS markets. The company has been active in Germany for over 20 years and has a strong track record of developing, constructing and operating renewable energy projects.

With the backing of a major infrastructure fund, the business is in a very strong financial position, with the funding and project pipeline to continue building and operating assets over the coming years. It's a secure environment to join, with plenty of work ahead and the opportunity to grow alongside the business.

They are now looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to focus on the DC side of their utility-scale solar PV projects and Energy Storage Systems.

This is a good opportunity for someone who enjoys the engineering side of things and wants to stay close to the technical work. Rather than simply managing consultants or overseeing work from a distance, you'll be involved in the actual engineering, reviewing designs, solving problems and working with the wider project team to get projects built.

The Role

• Take responsibility for the DC electrical engineering of utility-scale solar PV parks.
• Review and assess DC designs, including module layouts, string configurations and cabling.
• Work on the technical development of projects, from initial design through to construction and commissioning.
• Review engineering drawings, technical specifications and documentation from external consultants and EPC contractors.
• Identify and resolve technical issues as projects progress.
• Work closely with project development, construction and other engineering teams.
• Help improve technical designs and find practical solutions to engineering challenges.

Your Background

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar discipline.
• Several years of experience in electrical engineering, ideally within utility-scale solar PV.
• Good understanding of DC systems, including string design, module configurations, DC cabling and inverter integration.
• Experience reviewing electrical designs and working with external engineering partners or EPC contractors.
• Someone who enjoys getting into the detail, taking responsibility and finding solutions rather than simply passing problems on.
• Fluent German and good English.
