Job summary

Reverion in Germany is seeking a Senior DevOps / Platform Engineer to ensure high availability of our reversible energy platform. You will design and operate Kubernetes clusters, implement infrastructure as code, and advance our GitOps workflows across diverse targets, from cloud environments to on-site plants.

You will work with engineering to scale Kafka streams and time-series databases, tune performance, support audits, and help define cybersecurity practices in line with NIS2 and CRA.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 3+ years in a DevOps or related role, or 5+ years of relevant experience
• Proficiency deploying, managing, and scaling Kubernetes clusters
• Strong networking, security, and system administration
• Observability tooling experience (Prometheus, Grafana, logging)
• Terraform experience
• Experience with data streaming platforms and databases
• Familiarity with NIS2 or CRA is a plus
• Excellent English (C1) and German (B1) communication

Your mission

• Ensure high availability of all services required to operate our plants by providing and maintaining multiple Kubernetes clusters
• Define infrastructure and deployments as code, and maintain and improve our GitOps workflow to streamline deployment processes
• Collaborate with developers to design and implement CI/CD solutions with deployments to various targets, ranging from Kubernetes to our power plants themselves
• Operate and evolve our Kafka-based data streaming platform, including scaling, upgrades, and ensuring reliable data flow
• Operate and scale our analytical and time-series databases (ClickHouse, InfluxDB), including performance tuning, backup and recovery, and upgrades
• Help shape and implement our cybersecurity strategy, document our system landscape and configurations, and support audits as well as compliance and reporting requirements (e.g., under NIS2 and the CRA)

Your profile

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and at least 3 years of experience in a DevOps or related role, alternatively, at least 5 years of relevant professional experience
• Proficiency in deploying, managing, and scaling Kubernetes clusters
• Strong understanding of networking, security, and system administration
• Familiarity with observability tooling for metrics and logs (e.g., Prometheus, VictoriaMetrics, Loki, VictoriaLogs, Grafana)
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform
• Experience with operating data streaming platforms and operating databases
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as NIS2 or the CRA is a plus
• Skill in prioritizing speed in the short term when necessary, while ensuring no long-term compromises on maintainability and robustness
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
• Excellent English skills (at least C1 level) and German conversational (B1)
