Overview
Senior Control Software Engineer (all genders welcome) at goodBytz. Join us to develop the intelligence of our robots across planning, orchestration, and embedded code. You will own the full development cycle and work to sustainably improve reliability, performance, and code quality.
Responsibilities
- End-to-end ownership of features and issue resolution: identify, reproduce, diagnose, fix, test, and deploy changes across a broad control software codebase. Make independent design decisions and contribute to the evolution of our systems.
- Boosting reliability and performance: strengthen core components including planning/orchestration logic, state machines, and embedded sensor/actuator control to reduce field bugs, regressions, MTTR, and to increase throughput and stability.
- Level 3 production support: act as escalation point for field issues, triage incidents using telemetry, contain impact, implement long-term fixes, and feed learnings back into codebase, test coverage, and runbooks.
Qualifications
- Degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
- 8+ years of professional experience in relevant domains, ideally at the intersection of software and hardware
- Strong software development skills with understanding of hardware-related contexts
- Experience in at least one: academic research, startup environments, or independently developed technical projects
- Exceptional code comprehension skills – able to read and debug others’ code quickly
- High sense of ownership – full responsibility for code, features, bugs, and long-term maintainability
- Fluent in English; German or other languages are a plus
