Zusammenfassung

Jobtailor in Germany seeks an experienced assortment analytics professional to own SKU- and category-level reporting, establish data lineage, and lead tail SKU rationalization. You will quantify impacts, build models, and present recommendations to Merchants and Planning leadership, while mentoring analysts and delivering scorecards.

Strong Excel and SQL skills with Power BI/Tableau experience are essential.

Qualifikationen

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Analytics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • 4-7 years of analytical experience in retail merchandising, planning, or analytics.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including multi-variable modeling, large datasets, and tool-building.
  • Proficiency in SQL to source, join, and validate data across systems.
  • Ability to work independently in ambiguous situations and structure analysis.
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills for presenting to senior leadership.
  • Experience mentoring analysts or reviewing analytical work for quality.
  • Preferred: Power BI, Tableau or comparable visualization tools (dashboard design).
  • Preferred: Furniture, home, or big-ticket retail experience.
  • Preferred: Experience with assortment planning or demand planning systems (Logility, o9, Blue Yonder).
  • Preferred: Python, R or similar tooling for advanced analysis.

Aufgaben

  • Own, design, and continuously improve SKU- and category-level assortment productivity reporting.
  • Establish definitions and data lineage for assortment planning.
  • Lead rationalization analysis for tail SKU exit, consolidation, and transition.
  • Quantify sales, margin, and productivity impacts and present recommendations to Merchant and Planning leadership.
  • Build and maintain depth and breadth methodology models, including price point coverage and good-better-best architecture.
  • Lead market, consumer, and competitive analysis to identify assortment gaps and whitespace opportunities.
  • Define methodology, assumptions, and QA standards across assortment analytics.
  • Review junior analysts’ work for accuracy and rigor.
  • Build and own pre- and post-launch performance scorecards.
  • Diagnose forecast variance and translate findings into forward-looking assumptions.
  • Lead item transition and end-of-life analysis.
  • Partner with Demand Planning to refine new item forecast methodology.
  • Produce executive-ready assortment reporting on an established cadence.
  • Advise Merchants and Planners for assigned categories and challenge assumptions using data.
  • Scope and deliver complex ad hoc analysis for in-season decisions and line review preparation.
  • Automate recurring analysis and develop scalable self-service reporting tools.
  • Provide technical guidance to less experienced analysts.
  • Deliver assortment productivity reporting, rationalization analysis, new item forecasting, and post-launch scorecarding.
