Forsyth Barnes Consultancy client seeks a Senior AI Engineer to design and implement production-grade AI components that improve transactional accuracy, automate tax categorization, and support customer workflows in a regulated financial software environment based in Berlin.

You will lead cross-functional projects from prototype to deployment, mentor engineers, optimize cost and latency, ensure privacy, and collaborate with finance experts to translate regulations into reliable AI logic.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum 7 years of software engineering with at least 3 years in production AI.
• Experience with LLMs and agent frameworks in production.
• Deep Python proficiency and familiarity with model-serving stacks.
• Experience integrating with banking/tax APIs and handling financial data.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end development of AI features that automate accounting and tax tasks.
• Design LLM‑based agents and pipelines for structured financial outputs and rule‑based augmentation.
• Implement monitoring, testing, and observability for model behaviour and data quality.
• Collaborate with finance domain experts to translate regulatory rules into reliable AI logic.
• Optimize inference cost, latency, and scalability across cloud environments.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to AI engineering standards and best practices.
• Drive secure data handling and privacy‑preserving model design for financial data.
• Ship iterative improvements with strong versioning and rollback procedures.

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of software engineering experience with at least 3 years focused on production AI systems.
• Proven experience building with large language models and agent frameworks in production.
• Deep Python proficiency and familiarity with model‑serving stacks (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, TorchServe, Ray, or equivalents).
• Experience integrating systems with banking and tax APIs and handling sensitive financial data.
• Track record of designing monitoring and testing strategies for ML models in production.
• Strong understanding of prompt engineering, structured output parsing, and chain‑of‑thought mitigation techniques.
• Excellent stakeholder communication and ability to lead cross‑functional delivery.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience; advanced degree preferred.
